Thank goodness for classic rock stations!! CHOM kept me happy by playing Lady this morning while I was trying to make my way up the rapidly-accumulating-but-yet-to-be-plowed-snow-covered Mount Royal on my way to work. One less cranky driver in the ^%$#@ snow. :-)

I heard that. I have actually been listening to Xmas music nonstop on a light station here on the commutes down south. I have not heard any of the DDY Xmas tunes thus far. That was the one thing missing from the Styx Catalog, a good Xmas tune. Even the Eagles, prior to their breakup did the old Charles Brown cover of Please come home for Xmas. I heard the chipmunks this morning and it got me in a goofy mood.

Created Christmas cd's with 21 songs for some employees here where I work that had everything from Kenny Rogers, Garth Brooks, Beach Boys, Elvis, Gene Autry, Alabama, and Bob Rivers. It also had two Styx songs "All I want" and "Ring the Bells" and two DDY songs, "When I hear a Christmas song" "I'll be home for Christmas". Turned out real nice.

If your not sure who Bob Rivers is:

I heard this in one of the Big Box Stores I was shopping in and almost caught myself doing that little knee-bend dance to it. I looked around quickly to see if I actually did and if anyone saw me. It's what happens when you get old and remember this stuff from way back when. :D

Bob Rivers is a must. My favorite is "Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear" to the tune of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland". Maybe it's because I'm *&%$ sick and tired of that one.

Give him a try. Anyone.

On a Classic Rock Christmas there is a Styx Christmas song, can't think of the name of it right now, and I am not at home to look at the cd. But on it is an awesome version of the 12 days of Christmas by Shaw Blades. One of the best, if not the best version I have heard.

god i can't belive that was 8 years ago!!!!! my daughter was 4 months old, and the XX was our first night out since she was born. my sister lived on the upper east side, and babysat for us. right after the early show we had to leave because she was fussy. of course by the time we got up there she was asleep! was a great show, wish we could have stayed for the late one. styx played 4 songs. :D

Me, neither! Mine wasn't even born then and he'll be 5 in Feb!

I also remember them doing another one (think it was "Ring the Bells for Christmas", or something like that - Larry sang it) that I quite liked.

That was also the year that Steve Augeri sang at the show for the first time, I believe. He changed the words to "Lights" to be "Christmas Lights" and inserted 'New York City' instead of 'City by the Bay'.

Ooo, thanks for those!

Actually, I do recall Steve being there when it was still at the Bottom Line (it was just once, though). I remember him wearing those pants that looked like they had clouds on them. Steve's also been there 2 or 3 more times since then, although the last show I saw was at BB's a couple of years ago. I miss them.

Like I told you before girl, you HAVE to move to my area (kids miss you and you can HELP me with my Hockumentary)!! You'll hear Styx, Dennis, Tommy, Shaw & Blades, Damn Yankees, etc daily on the Milwaukee stations here!! 97.3 and 96.5 play Dennis solo quite often from his live album.

I heard "Lady" late Friday night, quite a few people turned and looked at me - LOL I think this side of the Mississippi River knows that "Lady" is my favorite Styx/Dennis song. LOL

Dennis' Christmas song is played quite often on 2 stations cranking out the Christmas tunes! :D

TRUST me, if I could, I would move!!! I want to! I don't think my son's father would be too impressed though. It would be one hell of a commute to get to see his son, you know?

I miss you guys too, including that 8 year old hurricane that is your youngest son! (Have you ever thought of strapping him to a generator in your basement? You'd never have to pay for electricity again!) You guys get the BEST concerts in Milwaukee and TWO great radio stations. Not fair!! AND, there's just something about American men ... You know the ones ..... Mmmm ...

Anyway, where was I? On yeah, CHOM has stopped playing Dennis' live album. Bummer. But they did play Prelude 12/Suite Madame Blue at 7:30 a.m. this morning. Always a Montreal favorite. You haven't lived until you've experienced a Montreal audience with that song. When it came on, my son just rolled his sleepy eyes and quietly ate his breakfast. :-)

Need any help with the Hocumentary? Do you want me to rustle you up some Canadiens?? LOL!
