Sorry, but this movie looks completely boring to me. Of the movies I saw, i'd vote for Dark Knight.

Can't really say that I have a vote for the best movie of 2008, but it certainly wouldn't be for Dark Knight. This was a hugely disappointing (and disturbing) movie for me. I think that the whole darn thing has been blown out of proportion with talks of Oscars and such (largely in part to Ledger's death). I thought Burton's Batman film was much better with Nicholson as the Joker (not that I think he should have played the role this time, I'm just comparing the two). Ledger's portrayal just didn't feel like the Joker to me (blame it on the writing or whatever the case may be), though he did do a heck of an acting job in the end.

I do believe it was an Oscar-worthy performance (and not because Ledger died) but his portrayal of a disturbed dark villain opposed to Nicholson's comic book type character was ten times better. IMO Christian Bale's Batman was better than any Batman from the past movies![]()

For what?
There are no titties or any gratuitous gore to speak of.
The movie def. has a nihlistic bent, but overtones of mayhem don't really merit the MPAA's attention.
I will agree it's def. not for the happy meal set.

Allowing it to be R could have allowed them more freedom to dive even deeper in Joker's psyche...the "do you know why I use a knife..." sorta scenes. It would have kept some of the kids away but it may have been a better 'adult' movie. The same goes for the Wolverine movie...they could make the violence 'violent', instead of toned down for the kids.
