Slightly OT - Kevin Cronin @ O'Hare

So I'm sitting here in the Admiral's Club (AA Terminal) at O'Hare and Kevin Cronin is here as well. I happened to look up from doing some work and the voice and the look are hard to miss. The funny thing is I could care less about approaching him, and I'm probably the only person who recognizes him.

Tell him to stay away from Styx so I can go see an REO show again

Awww...he is quite funny to talk to...especially if you are in a bar. Not quite as annoying as he is sometimes on stage ;) LOL He would probably get a kick out of someone recognizing him!!

What Froy, can't go see the 20 or so Midwest Shows a year that REO does without Styx?

I often wonder how easy it is for musicians like Kevin to go around in public without being recognized. I'm sure that the people that would recognize them (like ourselves) are in a very small minority.

If it was the 80s, he'd probably be recognized, but now? Not really. Plus, you'd have to know that Kevin - at least his hair - is way different than the 80s which is how most would know him.

Although part of the whole "corporate rock" badge was that these guys were faceless. Same could be said of many bands before and after.

Being the health nut and being so critical of Gary's indulgences, i would be suprised to hear that Cronin touches alcohol.

Either way, I'll pass as I said in the other thread. Styx + REO = no money from me. Kevin Cronin makes me want to claw my eyeballs out.

I saw the entire band (REO) walking around Syracuse University campus area and absolutely no one recognized them. They just looked like a bunch of old guys/somebodys parents to the students I'm sure.

REO are playing the Endymion Extravaganza at the New Orleans Superdome this year and riding in the parade as well. Styx and Journey played it last year. I heard that Styx rocked from long time members of the Krewe, who were not fans of either band.

Kid Rock is the headliner this year.
