Very OT: Rob Cavallo, Meatloaf, Steve Perry, David Cook

Was looking around the net and came across two interesting tidbits. I am big Meatloaf (singer not the other :) ) fan and while I was looking around I came across some interesting news. Meatloaf will be going back into the studio with Rob Cavallo to produce a new album due out in 2010.

The Other tidbit: Cavallo to produce Idol's 2008 winner David Cook's new album. Here is a line from an article that can be read here: http://www.thedailynewsonline.com/artic ... 886743.txt

Cavallo compares Cook to big-voiced former Journey frontman Steve Perry, who dropped by the studio while Cook was recording.

Thanks

As long as "Bat Out of Hell" is not in the title in any way shape or form, I'll buy it. So many of the songs from his first 2 albums are timeless classics - I like "You took the Words Right Outta My Mouth" the best. We've all had a moment in life like that where we're totally in love with someone & that one kiss just blows us away......

On the other hand, "Prayin' for the end of time" is another one we can all relate to...

Yeah, Meat really made a mistake in calling that last album "Bat Out Of Hell III".. His usual "Bat" writing partner(Jim Steinman) had no active participation in the album's creation, and it pretty much tanked; at least here in the states. It had some good songs, but way too much filler, and was no way on the same level as the classic "Bat" albums. And then.. to have the lead single be a Celine Dion song that was popular not THAT long ago.. wtf? I realize Steinman wrote the song; that's one of the very few they used of his for "Bat Out Of Hell III", but he didn't write anything specifically for the album.
