In the song Borrowed Time DDY mentions the street he lives on in Frankfort, IL. At the very end of the song as it fades out he sings … “ living on Prestwick Dr”

Actually ALL of that last chorus outro names the different streets the band members lived on at the time. It was a little in joke. None of them live there anymore so it makes no big difference now, LOL.

I hope all is well.

We're all Dennis fans. We're also Tommy, JY, Chuck, John P, John C, Glen, Todd, Ricky, and Lawrence fans. We don't have to hate everyone else to be a Dennis fan. And BTW, your grammar still sucks.

After some of the hatred you've spewed toward him, I was wondering why you were posting info about where he lived (which I already know because I didn't live far from there). Thank you for the info and I will add a did you know to the list....I went to a District 143 grade school in Midlothian, the very same school district that about 8-10 years earlier Dennis taught music appreciation at 8)

Dennis had cousins living across the street from me when I was growing up... we'd seen him there a few times. My sister would point him out, that that was Dennis DeYoung from Styx. Sadly, at the time, I was pretty much like? "Who? So..?" (Yeah, it was me pre-Styx fan...) I eventually grew up and moved out of the house (go figure) but my folks and Dennis's family still live across the street from one another today.

No, I'm not a DDY fan. I am a fan of some of his old songs with styx.

Does anyone remember the old Pumpkin Recording Studio on 95th and Oak Park Ave in Oak Lawn? It was a pizza place before Gary moved his studio there from his garage. I remember driving by on my way home from work in 1979 to 1982 and sometimes members of Styx would be sitting outside. I haven’t been past there in a long time. Does anyone know what’s in that building now? I recorded a couple of songs in Gary’s old (Pumpkin) studio when I was in high school back in the days when it was in his garage in Palos. :D In fact he had the old American Breed drum set in the studio which we used on our songs.

You could argue that No Tommy, No Styx.... the band struggles prior to Equinox, Other than Lady - nothing is breaking through at a national level, JC Quits as the Equinox tour is about to begin... they were poised to fail. Somehow they put it together as a unit and moved the band forward. Not saying that Dennis songs didn't give them that national notoriety, just an alternative point of view. Point is, take any one of the three principles out of the band and they are a very different band than what we knew and what we know.
