How many other bands/artists that basically produced themselves like Styx, have been as successful as Styx? I can't seem to think of any others.

Styx was produced by Dennis and was multi platinum
When that ended so did the band..

The band seems to be carrying on just fine with out him, froy.

They've made worse mistakes than dropping Dennis in the last decade. Like the never ending tours, lack of new material since '03, a crap load of greatest hits and live releases, the reluctance to change up their set list because they want to ignore their successful hits. Stuff like that.

Styx with Dennis was multi-platinum...hmm let's see...Edge of the Century barely made Gold status, Return To Paradise went Gold and Brave New World did nothing. All involved Dennis in Styx and producing (well at least partly on BNW but his songs sucked arse). Granted the industry was changing by 1990/91, but your statement is false foo.

They COULD call it quits, but obviously there's a large enough fan base going to their concerts that they feel it's worthwhile to keep touring. Also, without that fan base they'd feel no need to release those Greatest Hits and Live Albums. So yes, they're doing fine.

Even if they kept Dennis, with all of the work that he put into doing Hunchback, if he made them all wait till he was done then Cyclorama would have come out later than '03, and it would probably STILL be the only new material we'd have since BNW

Speaking of which, since Dennis wanted to 'produce' his parts of the record in his home instead of at a 3rd party studio the whole band could have used, we got BNW. Whose to say to any album after it would have been different?

There was a lot of potential for Styx to gain the success it once had, but all the wrong decisions have been made this past decade and it's too late for it.

Foolin, where did you find that out? Please let me know..

I know they sold about 3000 copies up here about six months after the DVD came out, which I was surprised about.

I know that RTP also went gold up here too a few years back (DVD not CD- not even sure if RTP did sell 50,000 here.)

Be cool to see if they come up here for the Award presentation..

I got that from a very reliable source, but I can't say where or people on here will bombard me with stuff.
