Less than 600 people....wow.....

Part of me thinks that the mystery is guitarist at some DDY shows is going to be Tommy Shaw.

They play these HOB gigs every year and most of the tickets are only available through the fan club and not the general public. The ones in Vegas only have GA standing available and that only amounts to 200 out of 1800 seats. They must not count those in the final tally. I know for a fact that there were no tickets available for this Hollywood show about 10 days before.

That said, they are going to burn out more and more of their audience if they do not do something like take at least a year off, make a new record, and other things.

And getting DDY back would help, but also limit how much they could play.

Why? So they can tour once every 7 years and then break up for 7 more? Even if they did stick together and toured every couple of years, the interest would wane after the first tour anyway. Why bother. They all seem happy with what they are doing so let it be. Most fans are satisfied too...you can see Dennis do his stuff and the rest do theirs. Only a few diehards are crackin up over it.

See that Chicago Styx
Want to hold up that billboard for this show
Under 600 people there
Proved my point no triple bill and Styx sells under 1000 per show
Great job Gowan

The numbers say otherwise
Sorry

That said, they are going to burn out more and more of their audience if they do not do something like take at least a year off, make a new record, and other things.

Its to late
They have scoarched the name STYX out
See what greed does

And getting DDY back would help, but also limit how much they could play.

Not even close to 25% unemployment, try 8.1% in February.

If they keep getting asked to come back every year, it must be a money making proposition.

I saw them there in March of '06. It was a great show in a great venue. But beer was waaayy overpriced.

I think that's most venues these days, I remember going to Ozzfest a few years ago at The World (Tweeter Center or whatever the venue's called these days in Tinley Park) and they charged like $6 for a warm cup of beer

Can't fault the logic of this post...

Having said that, if these numbers are correct, that is truly dismal. I don't blame Gowan, Shaw, Jy or much else. I blame that 60.00 a ticket is a ton of dough to see a band who was in their heyday in 1978.

Did anybody GO to that show. Is this accurate?

Actually the heyday was 1981.

The Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto is like 10 bucks for a cup of beer. And it's draft, doesn't even equal a bottle.

I go to these shows every year, and I can tell you that most of the tickets do NOT go to the "fan club". The HOB in Vegas was not GA and had reserved seats on the floor both times I've seen them there. They were all sold out, and I would agree with you that they probably do not include tickets that weren't actually *sold*, i.e., radio promotions, etc. in those #'s.

Then its even worse that they have to GIVE half the tickets away to get a full house....
