I use "Total Recorder". Just Google and download. There is a small one-time fee, but it's worth it. Of course I'm assuming your wanting to do the same thing that I use it for - but maybe you're not.

What I use it for is to make audio copies of DVDs (i.e. concerts) to listen to on my Ipod (or, burn to a CD).
It's pretty simple - you just pop the DVD in your computer and play it. Wwith the Total Recorder program, you just hit "record" and then "stop" when you're done (like your old tape recorder) and then save your file.

Hope this helps!

My hubby just burned some CDs from DVDs that he shot, using the Garage Band program on the Mac. It turned out REALLY well! Of course, I don't know if you're a PC or Mac person, so this may not help.

Good luck...

I use Magix Audio Cleaning Lab, where you can rip the audio from the DVD or record it from the DVD
