Wow, I did not know that GB actually toured with ELO or the Orchestra during the 90s. No Jeff Lynne on this tour, although I thought a Jeff led ELO did tour briefly not to long ago. Just reading through Glen's announcement, it was odd how Styx and ELO seemed to parallel each other: group going on without leader, lawsuit, death in the band, etc. In fact three or four paragraphs into his article, I thought he was talking about Styx. Anybody else out there like ELO?

Glen seems to fit in anywhere. He is that good.

I thought he was talking about styx until I got to the ELO part. What does this mean for the acoustic shows?

I love ELO but this group of back up musicians is hardly ELO. For a long time they called themselves ELO II. Jeff wrote every song, sang the lead on all of the hits, and could have played all of the instruments himself(which he did on Zoom). ELO is a good case study on what would happen if you wait on your lead singer to get interested back in the band again. Jeff tried to tour with Zoom, but poor ticket sales and the death of George Harrison ultimately led to the cancelation of the tour. There is a great DVD of the starship in action again. Jeff has many other irons in the fire and would have toured as much as a Dennis led Styx.

Now on a completely different tangent, I've always thought Jeff and Dennis would be great together if they could get both of those Egos in the same room at the same time.

Hell yeah, if Glenn can't make the acoustic shows, have Jeff fill in.

Oh right.. I always forget about him!

Honestly, I always though Fogerty would of made an amazing contribution to their lineup..

I do like ELO. You should check out L.E.O. "Alpacas Orgling". It's an album by a bunch of younger guys that sounds like something ELO would do. It's really good.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Excellent choice

ELO was always a hit/miss thing for me. I loved Telephone Line, Sweet Talking Woman, Last Train to London and Mr Blue Sky. Thier inclusion to that dreadful movie Xanadu turned me off to them for some time. Greatest hits is good enough for me. I think I have the Wilbury's somewhere at home. It would be hard to replace Roy Orbision's voice. I think prior to his death, Petty wanted Del Shannon in the band.

Totally awesome record. Bleu is a genius and knows who to hang out with. Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning Jr from Jellyfish and Dan Wilson. His solo album is great as well.
