SHM Remasters

Postby Ash » Mon May 11, 2009 11:15 pm

Hey All;

I recently came into the Styx SHM CD's from Japan and they are all, without question, remastered. That is with the exception of Cornerstone and Paradise Theatre. There is one complaint with the them tho. They seem to have a high degree of midrange in the EQ. This makes listening to them at high volume somewhat irritating on the ears since the harmonies of styx have a lot of midrange as it is.

I was just wondering if anyone else who had these experienced the same thing.

Not really sure, but I got the Kilroy SHM and Heavy Metal Poisoning sounds different, especially when they get to the guitar solo and that chorus hits after it, sounds like it slowed down or something.

As I noted, Cornerstone and PT are the only non-remasters in the bunch.

I knew there was a post on it, mine was more or less about the EQ job. The midrange seems to be a bit excessive on GI and PO8.
