I was listening to "Suite Madame Blue" the other day, and it hit me.. forget "Come Sail Away", "Renegade", and "Mr. Roboto"; shouldn't Styx be in the rock and roll hall of fame based on this song alone? What a kick ass song. It's a classic rock staple; I've never encountered anyone who didn't think it was the shit, but I think a lot of people don't even realize it's Styx.

I have always considered SMB the quintessential Styx song. Moreso than Come Sail Away, which most consider to be. I think, lyrically, it is one of the best Styx songs. I also prefer Dennis' vocals on it to CSA.

Not with those idiots from Rolling Stoned running the show. They have not gotten around to inducting all the "cool" and politically correct acts yet.

I agree. Probably one of the only "greatest hits" that hasn't gotten stale for me yet! If it's not quintessential Styx, it's at least quintessential Styx for that more progressive-styled period of Styx. Haunting chord extensions, eerie melodies, huge harmonies, crunchy guitar riffing/crazy soloing, some synth soloing, and just the right amount of pomp added to taste. Fuckin awesome.
