I e mailed todd about this idea a while ago and he replied a couple of days ago and he said there are currently no such plans to do a project like this although it is still early in the tour. however if i could get enough support from here and other sites i think i could get him to change his mind. any takers?

Saw the show in Vegas and all bands were excellent and the production was top notch. More than anything they offered a great value to fans with tickets $10 - $25. However, with the setlists they are playing there is absolutely no reason to film it. All 3 bands have fairly recent DVDs with every song that is being played and no new or creative material was played. Leave it what it is . . . . . a value packed tour featuring the hits.

Then after this Styx has to make a new record and be creative!

REO has to create a set where they play stuff from the newest album.

No offense, but another live album (without orchestra) of the same tunes? Really? The only major difference is this would have Ricky and not Glen (going back to the old Arch Allies/St Louis live albums).

Dennis doing a live album from his acoustic shows is a much more interesting proposition because it is re-worked tunes.

^Any idea on the likely hood of him doing that? I won't be able to attend the acoustic shows, and it definitely seems like it would be cool to see.

A live dvd from Dennis or Dvd/CD combo would be great.

Styx needs an original cd before another live or covers album. We don't need Arch Allies II.

He answered it in my interview. In short, not on his radar.

LOL, it would be funnier if it wasn't so true. Time and again, this band just proves it doesn't give a shit about it's longtime fans.

Can you imagine how friggin cool it would be to see them live without the same old BS?

I'm actually starting to hate the same old songs on their setlist. Ugh

It's a business. They care about keeping fans coming to see them perform. Those fans aren't internet die hards. They are the casual fan looking for nostalgia. The set list isn't inspiring, but they aren't going to change a formula they think works for them.

Same goes for Dennis. The die hards make up a small percentage of the crowd, and they need to pander to the people wanting the nostalgia. Anyone who doesn't get that at this point is just delusional. I think most people here do, but some just don't want to accept it. It makes certain threads fun ("what if Styx/DDY played ..."), though.

That said, there is limited market for another live album with mainly the same tracks as a bunch of other CDs with no real new spin on them like DDY's acoustic shows or the CYO show.
