I really wish performers would put on their websites either free or to buy their concerts specials like this.

When I get a moment I'll post pics and a formal review of the show on my site. This show was arguably the most interesting one I've seen Dennis do, and I've seen a lot over the years with various band configurations. And interesting good, not interesting bad. The set list doesn't necessarily reflect that, but trust me here. Anyone catching one of the 8 acoustic shows in Canada are in for a big treat.
Set list:
A.D. 1928/Rockin' the Paradise
Lady
Grand Illusion
Nowhere Man (Beatles cover)
One Hundred Years From Now
Desert Moon
Castle Walls (snippet)
All In a Day's Work
Mr. Roboto (and yes, it worked)
Save Me
Bam (song from Glen's Welcome to Hollywood)
Lorelei
Light Up
Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough (DDY not onstage)
Watching the World Go By (Son of Edge song; also on Glen's Palookaville)
Picnic Island (Jeff Watson solo guitar)
Suite Madame Blue
Babe
The Best of Times/A.D. 1958/The End (Beatles tune from the Abbey Road medley on side 2 of said album - bit of it thrown in; best part of the night for me musically how they worked it in - I think Suite and MtlLady saw how stunned I was when that happened)
Come Sail Away (with a bit of Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue" thrown in)
There was also another solo Jeff Watson instrumental earlier in the night but for some reason I can't remember where at the moment.
DDY also announced yesterday they taped an episode of A&E's Private Sessions (http://www.aetv.com/private-sessions/) which will air July 12th.

I will be curious to watch the A&E show on the 12th. I just can't imagine how they pull off some of those songs acoustically. Rockin The Paradise? It's such an electric guitar based tune. Guess I will wait and find out on the 12th.

I hate to say it but this setlist is terrible
Roboto RTP Lorelei Light UP and Grand Illusion?
This is an unplugged show why do the plugged in songs?
He should have dug deep
One of the reasons I did not go was because I knew the set prior and did not want to see the same songs again
Here is my set-list Dennis live and learn

I loved the show, but I was sitting with 3 hardcore Styx fans who've seen tons of shows, band and solo, and they all complained that it wasn't the standard rock show. Even though they all knew it was going to be an acoustic show going in. If he'd deviated even further from the standards with the setlist, they really would have hated it. And these were hardcore fans. It's very tough to be an established artist and do something different.

Exactly my point. I mean, how many who say they are hardcore Styx fans even know "Father OSA"? Not that many. The only reason I wanted to go was because it was a non-standard show. I've seen the rock show plenty of times. Everyone has a different motivation for seeing a show, but the bottom line is a bit of nostalgia and a lot of fun. That fun generally means hits people know.

You also have to remember that while a show like this is a bit more "die hard" friendly than most, the bulk of his audience is still going to be the casual fan who wants to hear the hits.

Why would anyone at a Dennis DeYoung concert ask about MISS AMERICA unless they were either looking for trouble or retarded? (and I realize the question is both rhetorical and redundant)

There were also bits of Sweet Home Alabama, Sister Christian and Don't Tell Me You Love Me played at various points.

The hell with the casual fan
Styx fans know Goodbye to Roseland Father OSA Balerina ect
I am sick of hearing Grand Illusion Lorelei and Roboto
They are great songs but this is a unique show.
Dennis needs to get some balls and stop worrying about the casual fan.
The best show he ever did solo was The HOB Chicago Lost Treasures show.
It was loaded with rare tunes Best Thing Borrowed Tome Im Ok ect
Nobody bitched about that.
