Private Sessions: Dennis DeYoung July 12

Isn't it odd that Styx was on their upcoming shows list earlier this year and now it is Dennis doing the show....

Big mystery. Something didn't work out band-wise, I guess, for now. I have some theories, but certainly only my opinion.

I was told they were initially scheduled to film around the time Suzie
Young became ill, and had to postpone.

Everything is odd what Styx and Dennis has been doing "around" each other for the last 10 years and actually more.

Remember when Styx had a scheduling conflict for a Michigan show and Dennis filled in had to open up for Ted Nugent (I think), of all people?

Nothing with both camps surprise me anymore. I personally think it's great how things have been working out for Dennis, obviously. Thinking back to 1999 and not knowing if Dennis would ever perform again or what he was going to do after he was kicked out of a band that he co-founded. Wow, just look at him now!! Unbelievable & GREAT !!!!

I think in most cases you just don't have two viable sources of a common music background doing what Styx and Dennis are doing, which is presenting their music, touring, recording, etc, simultaneously. Usually you have one or the other. (Singer breaks off and becomes a solo success. Band goes on without singer and is a success.) I can't think of a lot of circumstances where you get both who can claim a rightful place in today's music world (even if it is the nostalgia market, mostly) and can be considered, certainly on a smaller scale than in the past, a success.

No, not if you read it correctly and actually used your head.

This seems to close the subject on a Session with Styx.
