he passed away this evening at the age of 92......Best news anchor televison has ever seen. Im glad he lived a long time after retiring from CBS news...he lived a full life.

Mr. Cronkite helped form my perceptions of a newsman. He left an indelible mark, and I am saddened to learn of his passing. May he rest in peace.

He was a symbol of confidence, trust, and you could believe what you heard in the news.

I vividly remember his coverage of the Kennedy assassination. One of the few times he showed true emotion on air and it reflected how the whole of the country felt at that moment.
No one will ever be the type of news anchor Mr. Cronkite was, which makes his passing all the sadder. He stood for something that simply is no more.

Sorry if this skips a generation but i wasin't familiar with him until my local news did a tribute to him and showing the apollo 11 stuff. We could of used him in this day in age. All we have now is frekin katie couric
