Just Like High School

Postby ChicagoSTYX » Sun Sep 20, 2009 10:23 am

This week I was able to hear new CDs by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kiss. Next week Foreigner will be putting out a new CD and I heard Journey is working on a new one too. All we need is a new Styx CD and I’m sure my acne will reappear.

what the hell is with Styx not doing a new studio album? Seriously annoying...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Odds are that Styx will release some Christmas album before an actual studio album. It will feature "All I Want" remixed Blue Collar Man style, it will also feature the other crap songs that were on the CYO cd. Probably also some horrible version of the Beach Boys "Little Saint Nick" remake.

Just a wee bit bitter are we? Why release a new studio album that will only sell 40000 copies, 1000 to the people on this board and 39000 mistake sales that someone thought they were getting a greatest hits version. I'd love to hear some new music, but I'm not sure that it's a viable economic proposition.

So release some new music on the website or something. Why should they care if they sell? They make their money by touring anyways. I think everyone is just dissapointed they just don't release new music for the simple fact that they want to release new music. Styx never wants to do anything unless there is large $$$ attached to it.

Just from the standpoint of being an artist how could you not want to create something new??? It’s ridiculous that Styx has gone this long with nothing new. They won’t see another dime of my money until they do come up with something new.

That is the bottom line here. That, and I do not think they have a record company contract right now. That does not prevent them from releasing something independently, or online, but they are cleaning up on the nostalgia circuit and time off the tour is spent doing their own things, not writing or recording new music it appears.
