An example of that respect Tyx has for DDY

Postby Higgy » Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:01 am

Here's Todd Sucherman (salaried employee) refering to the founder and guy who wrote the hits Todd has made a living playing:

Hey Todd,
I was at the Pittsburgh show last night and it was amazing. Your style has become better since last year when I seen you. Your drumming blew my away. I was upset because we had to leave during Miss America. You are awesome. Do you think sometime you will release a CD with the 18 song medley. That was the highlight for me other than the Damn Yankees songs with Night Ranger and High Enough with Styx.
Finally to my questions, Peter Frampton recorded his show and it was available 15 minutes after the show. How come Styx didn't also record their show. I think you all improved the songs greatly since your last live CD. How did you come up with the drum parts on CYCLORAMA? For instance, One with Everything is my favorite song on that album, how did you come up with the drum fills. One other thing, I know a lot of people have asked you but has any plans come up yet on recording a drum DVD. Thank you so much for your valuable time.
------------------------------------
Dear________,
I'm happy to hear you dug the Pittsburgh show. It was a great night. Thanks also for your kind comments on my playing----it's always appreciated!
I'm not 100% sure about the recording thing because I haven't asked. I imagine there might be some legal issues regarding our former keyboardist. I think anything he had a hand in writing might pose a problem regarding salable items. That being said, the medley will most likely never be available for legitimate purchase. I know bootlegs are available, but you didn't hear that from me!
As far as Cyclorama goes, check out the "notes on Cyclorama" on the site. I think that might shed some light on your question. I just try to play for the song and inject some interesting things in there for musicality. I may do a DVD at somepoint, but I've been so busy. There doesn't seem to be any time to get it together. Keep posted, though.
Thanks again, man.
Todd

Yup, former keyboardist - Todd fucking salaried hired hand Sucherman refering to Dennis Deyoung, founder, songwriter, singer, and frontman of Styx as "our former keyboardist".
THAT'S cool!

You really think all DDY is to Styx is their "former keyboardist"? Would you refer to John Lennon the Beatles' former rhythm guitarist? Coming from someone who is no more than a hired hand, I think this lacks a certain amount of respect. Even if he didn't want to say "Dennis Deyoung", he may have "the band's former leader", the "founder of the band", the guy who wrote most of the songs, etc.

Well you don't know me very well if that is what you think, I think of DDY. I waould suggest you ready back in the 3000 + posts of mine. I defend DDY, plus Styx. But in current Styx "reworked" history that is all he is. So my point is, do you expect Styx to say something different this time. Styx has a problem with him, not I

Yea, but I hate Lennon. So I guess Styx or someone in Styx hates Dennis with the former comment

I think, could be wrong, that Todd is more than a hired hand now a days. Yea is lack of respect, but Todd really has had very little dealings with DDY

Dennis didn't write most of the songs for the band, but he wrote most of the hits. I think if you don't mention DDY's name your not giving advertisemsnt for DDY. But is does lack repect for DDY.

So predictable, you can't even restrain yourself when it means proving how predictable you are. lol

Of course you haven't mentioned me. I haven't been around in a few weeks, ya buffoon.

Isn't it about time for you to get pregnant again?

Is that supposed to be some sort of pot-shot because I have a family? Or is this about you being put off again by people that actually get laid once in awhile?

Well, either way, the answer is no. I have as many children as I've always wanted, so we're done. Thanks for your interest. :)

The pregnancy comment was just saying it was awfully nice when you weren't around here - if you want to read more into than that it's your perogative - obviously there is quite a lot of psychological baggage there that maybe your should deal with...

aah. I see. Except, I was around all throughout my entire pregnancy, so it wasn't quite as malicious as it seemed, just irrelevant.
I admit to psychological issues, but only the kind that keeps me reading these forums.

OK, well instead of saying former keyboardist, he could have said something that more fits with the truth. Something like "former keyboardist/lead singer/background singer/primary song writer/producer/Main reason why Styx is famous/FOUNDER."

OK, I like that better...lol
