It is difficult, if not impossible to find how big of hits "rock tracks" were before the advent of the Mainstream Rock Chart in 1980 (at least I can't find it), so its hard to figure out which of the Styx Rock Tracks (those that were not official "pop singles") did vs. each other. In other words out of the following (and I know some of these were also released as pop singles), which got the most airplay in the US on Album Rock Stations?

Anyone know if any charts existed for mainstream rock stations before 1980?

my brother graduated high school in 1980 and has been a lifelong styx fanatic and he has always said that the three songs that were never "officially" released that got the most airplay were'

According to the book "Rock Tracks", by Joel Whitburn, these were the most popular rock tracks Styx had before the invent of the "Mainsteam Rock" chart. I personally have never heard "Lorelei", "Mademoiselle", "Sing For The Day", or "Why Me" on classic rock radio, but I'm sure things might be different in other parts of the country.
