Cool, interesting music, but the lyrics are a little corny.

One of my favorites from that album, though I think I am in the minority here.

For me, that honor would go to "Lonely Child". It just strikes me as a last minute kinda song. They needed one more track, and it was "Lonely Child". I picture those lyrics on a crumbled up piece of paper in a girl's junior high locker. Maybe mommy and daddy don't like him, but he can sure write the poetry..

The first verse is pretty good in my opinion, but it got weak in the second one. There's a lot to like from that album, and oddly enough, I used to not like Born for Adventure, but now I like it as much as everything else from that album.

Besides the unique sounding harmonies, this song has a lot going on in it. I love the keyboard work and the whole arrangement. I consider it one of the better songs on this album. And I also agree about "Lonely Child." An afterthought for sure. Other than that one, this album is good through and through.

The ENTIRE album is GREAT.
Side 2 needs to played at the highest volume your ears , family & stereo will allow. It is the GREATEST side of music in the history of rock!!!
And Froy is correct Tommy Shaw had his M.S. Funk bowling shoes on when this epic album was made.

Did you ever realize that the theme behind Equinox is sin?...the album is all about the sins that we commit as a society and then wraps it up nicely with Suite Madame Blue....It is really a precursor to the bigger Grand Illusion concept album.

and "Crystal Ball" was really a concept album about the ballet..

No, sin actually is somewhat of a theme for "Equinox". Never really thought about it like that, but then again, sin is a pretty familiar theme for most pop/rock music in general.
Damn that DDY, he wanted to live with "Lorelei" before they were married..and we don't even wanna know how the "Lonely Child" played into that.
