It is not horrible, not bad at all actually. BUT, gentle hint to all singers, good, bad or indifferent -- don't try to tackle anything that Steve Perry (and/or Dennis DeYoung, I might add) has already done, well, to perfection.

That's from one of the tribute albums that Tommy does. Obviously that one is from A tribute to Journey. I think he has also done a song from Kiss, Queen, Pink Floyd, AC DC, and Aerosmith.

If I had never heard Steve Perry sing this, I would probably think it was pretty good, but since I have, noo.

it is not bad.....tommy's country boy delivery takes away from it a bit. i agree if i had not ever heard this then it would have been a 9 or a 10...but in comparison to perry then maybe a 6 or a 7.

Oh, please, it's not bad. He just doesn't have the power behind his voice the way that Perry does. It's a different type of vocal.This also sounds "live" with little production. He definitely hits all the notes....something Perry hasn't been able to do for 25yrs.

I think he's confusing it with Faithfully.

Also a different type of vocal...Jonathan doesn't have the range....as discussed REPEATEDLY on the other forum.

I have this one, also the Pink Floyd, AC/DC, the Aerosmith one he and Jack do (Sweet Emotion) and the one he does with Slash (Gypsy) some are good, some are interesting, some... not so much. But they're all fun.

Sorry, but there's a difference between something being the worst version of a song you ever heard....and then showing your ignorance by comparing it to a version that doesn't exist...and me being realistic and saying it's not horrible but it's also not the best thing he's ever done.
