A fill in drummer for Kiss says he thinks Styx is better now?
How much cash was this dude paid
How can a guy say a band that has been playing the same 12 songs for the past 10 years is better than the original.
Is the guy Stoned?

jestor92 wrote:Michigan, did you read part one of the interview as well? It is a really good interview with him. Singer is one of the seemingly good dudes in the music world. I just posted that clip there because I was curious to what everyone's thought was on the current band. I saw them when they were touring with REO and Journey a few years back and thought they put on a helleva show and I loved Cyclorama. Then they did the covers album which I thought was terrible. I also saw Dennis DeYoung solo and he put on an amazing show.

And what exact part of the music industry do you work in that is superior to his job? You can spout all you like, but no one else can? Who the fuck do you think you are? Eric Singer is 100x more successful than you'll ever be. So is Lawrence Gowan :)

Yep they are a band that plays for the love of money not music and they are also a band that plays the same songs over and over and over and over and over and over again, Are they better now than 33 years ago Not even close

You do know that they were playing the same songs even with dennis in the band right?

Well your musical ignorance isn't his fault. How many have heard of you? How prominent are you in the music world? Who have you been a "fill-in" for? You're the equivalent of a zit on Lawrence Gowan's ass, if that.
masque wrote:eric singer is right from strictly a quality and tightness of the band standpoint. i've thought that for a long time.
todd and gowan and incredible musicians along with a clean and sober tommy makes for a powerful band....it doesnt mean that it is the band i prefer but they are a better performing band now.

You must not listen to a lot of music. Eric Singer has played drums for Lita Ford, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, KISS (Twice), Gary Moore, Badlands, Brian May, and Union. So yeah he's been around and is a damn fine drummer.

Hey I never walked on stage and made a damn fool out of myself like Gowan does night after night.
I never claimed I was in music and most of all I did not ruin a triple platinum band like hemaroid did
You troll

You're claim you were never in music, yet write off Eric Singer as a nobody, as if you're a more prominent person. Lawrence was offered a job and he accepted the offer. Dennis wasn't performing in a manner that the Styx corporation found suitable, so they found someone who would step up to the plate.

Here's something for you Froy. I play in a band and I have had this discussion many times with other musicians.
Being in a band is about 2 things; money and vanity.
Other musicians have argued - NO it's about THE MUSIC!
I say if it were about the music then you would be perfectly happy playing in your basement all alone. But instead you choose to get paid to get all dressed up, stand in front of a bunch of pretty lights and soak up the applause from a lot of people you don't know.

And many singers were offered to sing for Aerosmith guess what nobody took the gig and The band has now announced a summer tour with Tyler.
If goofy Gowan the impersonator would have had some scruples he would have said NO THANKS that's Dennis DeYoung's spot I don't want it.
You would have seen the band stay in tact just like Aerosmith. But no his solo career was shit going no place and he was an opportunistic fool who took the job and has ruined a once great band.
Dennis was performing just fine no different then Phil Collins doing songs other than STYX songs so what.
Shaw did ZENs Young did Wolves and Dennis is not allowed to do his thing? NO way. This was all about money and when Dennis said he would not split the money made from the VW commercial Gowan the opportunistic fool got a 10 year job out of it.
Thats BS no way around that
