Same here. I think there testing the waters with this. Maybe if this sells well enough for them maybe we'll get two or three new songs out at regular intervals.

For the most part Styx self produced most of their albums A&M. So in that case if that wasn't done properly for you, you can't expect much better.

I'd buy some Prilosec quick. You really can prevent acid reflux...and subjecting yourself to the desecration of classic songs... with a little help.

Not sure what you're listening to, but maybe you should get your hearing checked. You think the original recordings are poor, and from what I can tell, that the Gowan version sounds great. That's remarkable. Or, you're just trying to stir the pot.

Gotta be Gary Loizzo
Who was the producer for the CD???

I'm reasonably sure the new CD will be credited to Tommy, JY and Gary Loizzo.

That's much of the same team that produced the originals, for what that's worth.

I have to say, from 'Equinox' through 'Kilroy Was Here' I think Styx' records were exceptionally well-produced for that era.

I have to agree with you except for Grand Illusion. Not that I was disappointed with the music itself but the recording of it. I felt that the audio quality was not as good as Equinox or Crystal ball which came before it. Didn't they change recording studios at the time of GI? Maybe that has something to do with it. Just my opinion.

I also like the production on Edge Of The Century. Personally I think they should bring in an outside producer for a different take on things. Kevin Shirley would be good with the Styx sound.

Ya know... I thought that too. Then I heard Nevison's stuff on Brave New World and just wasn't that impressed. Loved what he did with Damn Yankees stuff and was hoping for great things with BNW.

I agree on Edge. I loved the sound of that album. Granted, now it's dated with all the synth sounds, but I loved the sounds they got off of John's drums. I remember reading Glen griping about how long it took Dennis to get the drum sound he wanted. It was worth it.
