With 18,500 reserved seating capacity and forty-eight sky boxes, the Allstate Arena is one of the largest indoor entertainment facilities in the Chicago land market.

Yes friends it was September 21st 1996 when this show closed out the tour. I was 3rd row dead center for this SOLD OUT show having a blast at a real STYX concert.
Wow what a great night. I remember a girl from Japan was in the first row it was I think her 33 show of the tour her name was Nu Nu or something like that.
She was the one holding the candle up in clip 2. Saw that tour 12 times loved every damn show, In fact thanks to Keith I saw sound check in Vegas.
And played black jack and had breakfast with JY go figure.

Great tour great concert great band.

I was at this very show as well, about 15 rows behind Froy. It was an excellent show and tour.

What were the songs that didn't make the DVD.

I remember them doing "Lights" and "Little Suzie" were there anymore?

1. Read my article from the 1996 Keyboard magazine - it's a shell with a keyboard in it. Piano emulation is what it is. Gowan's got the same issue to some degree - he ain't schlepping a baby grand. You want weak tone? Check out JY's solo bits around 3:50.
2. Having seen plenty of Styx shows with Gowan, he's far from perfect, too. It would have been easy to fix any "issues" in a studio post-production but it's clear they didn't.

Er, no. You're thinking of the 1997 tour which was behind GH2 and had "Little Suzie", "Queen of Spades", and "Dear John". The '96 tour - which is what teh DVD is from - didn't have any of that, nor did they play "Lights" on either tour to my recollection.

The reason you're confusing them is that the two tours were very similar overall.

Froy is correct, they were actually touring in support of GH2 in 1996. I remember hearing Lights played live. Did they ever perform "Light Up" in 1996? or in 1997? They toured promoting 'Return to Paradise' album in 1997.

I forgot about the acoustic bit. I guess you're right about LS - the tour was 96, so it was there.

97 had the RTP tracks.

I've been up for two days - I'm entitled to my mistakes!

Light Up was the 3rd acoustic song in the set in 96

I'm with you. I've seen every tour from Equinox all the way to the last tour with Dennis in 1997.
RTP was my favorite tour. Saw it MANY times on the West Coast. Wish I could have been at that Chicago show.

Actually, I saw the Nashville date of RTP and they did in fact play "Little Suzie" that night. They announced it as their upcoming single.

"Lights" on the other hand, no. Not in Nashville, anyway. Other than "Little Suzie" the Nashville date was identical to the DVD, right down to what they said between songs and everything.

Great, great show.
