And.....what IS that exactly? He is mildly more relevant in today's band as John Panozzo (rest his soul).

Aware of the backlash from 10-20 people on some message board? Are you serious?

There is no significant backlash. Styx can still go out and tour and make a better living then most people..so what difference do a few loud mouths REALLY make?

When this all started, froyline started some petition in response to Dennis saying something about 10,000 people signing a petition about him leaving Styx. After all this time, he STILL hasn't got that many to sign it. There is not a significant number of people who give a damn about this argument one way or the other.

In reality, Styx is a blip on the radar in the current music business. The general fan couldn't give a shit who is or who isn't in the band. As far a JY is concerned, he is just one of the people that was involved in the split. It took the actions of all of them for this to happen. However, it seems that he is the most bitter about the situation.

In 1999/2000/2001, there was more palpable "backlash" (quotes used for a reason). Now, it's just a few fans on BOTH sides bitching about one or the other. The truth is that most of us don't care and have seen both.

Let's assume for a moment JY still harbors some resentment towards DDY. That's his issue. It's not like DDY isn't out there making a living. We're not going to see a reunited "big three" any time soon, if ever. If DDY not being in Styx was a significant impediment to making money, things would probably be different.

Look for DDY to be back in the mix for a few shows in late 2011 or 2012. Larry will still be there also.

Well only he knows for sure. Based on his comments when the subject of DDY has come up it is apparent that he seemed to harbor a lot of bad feelings. To the best of my knowledge the other members that were in the band with DDY have not criticized DDY as much as JY. So those members could feel the same but have more tact then JY. I always felt that JY seems to harbor some resentment towards DDY because how visible in Styx he became compared to himself. That and the fact that he could not influence DDY on what he felt was best for Styx. In terms of the visible thing JY may have felt that same way with TS however, it seems that TS could have been easier for JY to influence his opinions on things.

While I doubt this would occur, I'd be OK with that provided Gowan played the keys (he does seem better than DDY in this regard), but he is not permitted to sing a note. Could you imaging DDY, Gowan, TS, and JY attempting harmonies? I think DDY might lose is mind and insist he be fired after one show.

I've painted this scenario in the past as a reality if Dennis ever goes back to Styx. He would not be the full time keyboard player, but do certain things.

Be realistic, froy. While DDY could do keys full time, it will most likely be more like his solo band which would mean an additional player. I'd LOVE to see him go back to full time keys, but I just don't ever see it happening.

I just don't see Gowan still being there if DDY would return. I think a reunion with DDY would be more likely to happen if the band was going to retire and they were doing a short tour as a farewell.

He knows bet on it, That's why you don't hear from him anymore, He knows he fucked up big time bringing in a copycat in Gowan.
In 96 they sold out Chicago with 18 thousand fans today they would sell 1800 in Chicago without a triple bill.

So Dennis is full time frontman/lead singer? Kind of like Steve Perry was with JRNY? Would TS really go for DDY being out front on all songs? And what does DDY do during songs that Tommy sings? Stand up there and look like an idiot? Or do they give him a tambourine or something to play so he's not just standing there with his hands in his pockets?
