Tommy's Guitars

Does anyone know what electric guitars Tommy is using lately? I thinking about getting a Taylor electric and I remember Tommy mucking about with one a while back.

And while we're on the subject of guitars, what was that unit that JY invented for his sound back in the day? I can't recall what it was.

I think it was something like the Yoshinarator.

I am almost there on buying a Taylor acoustic guitar. I do not have a quality steel string 6-string guitar and, while I don't have a lot of money to spend on one, I do want a good one with great sound.

Just having a hard time stepping over that big $$ line!!

Bugsy- Takamine makes nice ones that don't cost you the mortgage like the Taylors. I bought a Takamine 12 sting last year and it's one of my favorite guitars. Go to the link below and click on "dead or alive" in the song thingy and you can hear it. It's a great sounding guitar.

I will do that, Bry. Thanks for the suggestion. All the research I have done says Takamine makes a terrific guitar. I need to examine them more closely.

do yourself a favor and check out the taylor 214 ce....it's $1000 and plays everybit as good as anything they have and in my opinion sounds better than most other taylors.

The Taylor 214's are fantastic for the money. Takamine too. However I recommend finding a used Larrivee on ebay. Hand made and every bit as good as a high end Taylor.

Tommy changes his guitars all the time. One of his current favorites is a Hamer Talledega Pro. Other than that I believe that list is accurate. If you'd like to read about the Talledega I believe it's on either the Hamer blog or the Jol Dantzig blog.

I always thought that purple guitar he plays a lot was a PRS.

Guess not.
