Well, at least the streaming quality sounds pretty better than the original versions put out here. I have to say, I really like Difference in the World. TS sounds great - better with age. And as tired I am of hearing the same old stuff re-packaged, I think all of Tommy's songs come off pretty well.

As for Gowan.... CSA - I guess it's not horrific, but it he just can't do it justice. GI - that version is terrible. He just sounds like his voice is so thin (all head voice), and like he has a web in his throat. I don't know. I guess he's not to bad when he's in the background on the other songs (Lorelei, for example). Not trying to start another pissing war (Gowan vs. DDY).

I think Todd's style gives all the songs a different perspective as well.

While I won't buy it, I won't kill it.

Would much prefer a new album of new material (yeah, ain't going to happen). I think I'll pull out Cyclorama - not a bad disc, even w/Gowan. I kinda like Fields of the Brave.

I just sent a very nice message to Dennis, buttering him up congratulating him on Babe the only #1 hit by Styx, and the millions he made on WV coms,
his stint on 'So you think you can dance' and being married to the same Suz for a 90 years.
When he accepts me as his friend,I will let my beans spill.

Did you read the story where his nickname is from? No offense Froy, but that whole thread was one of the funniest threads on here over the years.

Some movie he and his wife likes where there is a couple where the guy keeps calling the girl "froyline", in German. And, no, I am not joking

Oh great! Better sound quality so you can really hear how "soulless" these versions are. Can't wait for the Walmart full blown 4 disc "Greatest Hits" newly recorded versions. In that set they will have one new song as well. Except it will only be half of the song so you have to buy the "Greatest, Greatest Hits 2" also newly recorded to get the other half of the new song. :D

Was that Jethro Tull singing Grand Illusion? Thank God there's an unlike button. I don't want my friends thinking I actually liked that crap.

There's nothing wrong with the originals. That's the main point, why bother? They do it because of a whole host of reasons. Some being, they lack any new creativity, they are stuck in their past, it's an easy and cheap way to make a buck without any real effort and last but not least they "think" they are a better band now then in their hay day.

I hear what you're saying. That's why I won't buy I, II, II, IV, or V. It's really quite sad that they've resorted to this. Do you think they are all "soulless"? Again, I don't think Shaw's are bad at all. They don't sound identical - I wouldn't expect them to. I just don't see the point. Sort of like the Journey album of Arnel re-do's (the name eludes me at the moment - you can see the impact it had). Not bad, but to what end. Did it really bring them any new fans, or just temporarily peak interest of their current base (or at least give them all something similar to argue about).
