Edge of the Century Tour

Hello, all,
I'm trying to put together a list of dates for the Edge of the Century tour and read on an older forum here at MelodicRock.com that folks saw the '91 shows in Minneapolis and Milwaukee. Can anyone provide the venues and/or dates for the Wisconsin and Minnesota concerts?
I also saw a tour t-shirt that listed a few other cities for which I don't have information. I realize, of course, that dates often get dropped or rescheduled, but if anyone has time and place for the cities shown below, I'd certainly appreciate hearing from you.
I'd also be curious, if you saw any of the EOTC shows listed here, what the crowd reaction was to the Shawless Styx. Despite having been a fan since the mid-'70s, I've only seen the band once, in 2000, on what I assume was still the Brave New World Tour. They played with REO and Survivor and all three bands were absolutely superb.
Anyways, the cities in question from the 1991 tour are below. Thanks for looking and thanks, in advance, for any help you might provide.

I saw them on that tour at the Beacon Theater in NY. Crowd seemed fine, I don't remember any anti-Glen vibe at all.

I don't think there was an AC date. I saw them in MA (in Mansfield, MA which may be considered the Boston date). 1st night of the tour I believe.
I saw them a bit later at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia, PA (actually Upper Darby).
Not many were doing casinos at that point, so if they did a NJ date it was probably in Holmdel, NJ at the (then) Garden State Arts Center.
I could be wrong, of course.

I saw them in Springfield IL in August 1991 at the IL State Fair.

Not sure if it was the bona fide opening night or not, but the band played a gig at the Sunrise Theatre in Florida on May 16, 1991. The Great Woods show in Mansfield/Boston was on the 26th of that same month.
The Atlantic City listing on the tour tee is wedged between the Upper Darby/Philly show on June 1st and the Beacon Theatre shows in NYC on June 4th and 5th. Of course, as you say, that listing may or may not have actually taken place.
The band did play the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel much later in the tour, on August 22nd. The last date I have is September 1st at the VP Fairgrounds in St. Louis.

Thanks for your post. Do you recall whether Vinnie James opened for them in Springfield?

I was at the Roanoke show. The only opening act was some acoustic guitarist. No clue who he was. Only other thing I remember about that show was that in the encore, a stage hand came out with a Roboto mask on and the audience went wild...and then they never played it!! People were bummed. They were definitely emphasizing SMTW at that show, but I also remember wondering why they didn't play LAFS because that was the song that was getting all the airplay at that popint. SMTW had kind of had its run by then.

Acoustic guitarist Vinnie James opened most of the shows on that tour, so I'd be willing to be that's who you saw. Thanks for sharing the information!

I was at the Sacramento Cali And Concord, Cali shows on back to back nights.
They also played in Santa Clara Cali at Great America a bit later and I was also at that show.
Vinnie James opened for every show.
Nobody had anything bad to say about Glen. Although I remember talking to one person who said she was also going to the Damn Yankees show to see Tommy later in the summer. Glen did a fantastic job. I got to high five him at one of the shows when he came out into the audience. But I did miss Tommy.
Dennis was the clear leader of this tour and he did a great job interacting with the crowd and joking around a lot.
I met John at the Concord show. He came out and sat in the audience about an hour before the show and I went and said Hi and he asked me to sit down and we talked for quite a while. He was seriously one of the nicest guys I ever talked to. Very genuine and friendly.

From what I've been able to gather, the band did play the University of South Florida Sun Dome on May 17th of 1991. Do you recall if Vinnie James, an acoustic guitar-based act, opened the show?

They played at the old Met Sports Center in Bloomington Minnesota. The band was real tight and Glen rocked!!!
I believe that was the last time that Styx played that venue. They sold out three shows there during their Paradise Theatre heyday. I saw two of them. TRULY awesome!!!
Once the North Stars left for Dallas the Met Sports Center had fewer and fewer events. It was demolished and now it sits as a parking lot for the Mall Of America.
Styx did rock the heel out of that place on many occasions. They were popular as could be back then and I attended most of their shows there.
Good Times!!!!

All 3 Edge shows that I went to were sold out. No empty seats at all. And the Concord Pavillion holds about 12,500 people.
And the concert venue at Great America holds 10,000 people. So they had no problems drawing crowds in the bay area in 1991.

I tried to search online for the date for the Great America show, but no luck. If you happen to find your stub from the show, let me know.
Thanks!

I dont think Vinnie James opened the first show in Ft Lauderdale. A comedian opened the show and was dropped by the 2nd show. I saw them in Chicago and Milwaukee and crowd was great both nights.
I remember being disappointed it was summer, hot and no white t-shirts. However, near the end of the tour a white shirt was finally added with the album cover. I wanted it soooo bad but never got one, never even saw what it looked like until recently. I have the other shirts from the Edge tour, still in good shape too!

Thanks, Mike! Superb recollection you have there. I, on the other hand, would be hard-pressed to recall what I had for breakfast this morning. But, I digress ...
Comedian Chance Langton opened the Great Woods show in Mansfield (Boston), MA, on May 26, so that's probably the same guy who warmed the crowd up (or not) in Ft. Lauderdale at the Sunrise Musical Theatre on May 16.
I appreciate your post,

I was at the Tower Theater show. I remember it being one of the most hot, uncomfortable nights I've experienced (it was late May, must have been a heat wave), but the show was great, and sold out. I also saw the Mann show in Philly later in August. Outdoors, but I was under the roof near the stage. The only 2 Styx shows I was ever at, unfortunately.
