Just got my hands on all of Larry's cds. Gave one a listen last night. Pretty good song wise. Production had a very 80's feel to it. Was wondering if anyone else had gave any of his cds a listen and there thoughts on them.
I picked up
Gowan
Strange Animal
Great Dirty World
The Good Catches Up
Solo Live, No Kilt Tonight
HomeField
Best of...
Au Quebec
The Lost Brotherhood

are there any others out there?

I have Strange Animal & Great Dirty World. I REALLY like Strange Animal.

I also purchased his greatest hits CD and when it arrived it only had one song on it. I thought I had just got a 'bad' CD so I ordered it again and sure enough it only has one song. Not much of a greatest hits collection!

What song was on it?

I really don't see Gowan having a Greatest hits cd, even though I like him. Best of would be a better name.

I've got the Good Catches Up. Some great songs there and maybe 2 that I couldn't get into at all.

Because there is only one voice of journey. And i have let go of a band that hates Mr P.I would have gone to see them if JSS or Jermerey had been with them. Now as for Styx i loved them then got busy with life. And found them again in the DVD " CYOC.And "Gowan" was with them and he blew me away. That statred my love of Styx again. He never trys to be a sound alike he is his own self.Oh & Fri 11-12-10 i go see them. And let me just say this will not be my last time to see them. :D

Doesn't this band hate DDY?!? I'm seeing a double "S" here, BB ...sorry!!
Now, if you just no longer care for Journey because you don't care for the singer, that would make sense!!

I've seen the guy a few times. He's just not really good. I could swear that one year they ran his voice through a modulator or whatever it's called and he sounded a lot better (and more like Dennis). I think Journey did a similar thing with Cain. Aside from one year, though, Gowan has usually sounded like shit.

Listen, I'm not one of these guys that gives a fuck about original members. I just want a good, quality live show under the band's name. If Gowan got out there and belted out the tunes, I wouldn't give a shit whether or not he was original, from Canada or the bastard kid of Elvis and Della Reese. Styx usually sounds pretty good, but there have also been some nights where Gowan is bordering on awful.

"Some Nights" is being kind, it's more like "Most Nights". I think on his own material he's OK. It's how he handles the Styx material that I just don't care for him.
