Kiss Your A$$ Goodbye

Postby Baron Von Bielski » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:58 pm

Why does the first part of the chorus melody sound exactly like Where You Goin' Now chorus by Damn Yankees??? I'm sure everyone has noticed here and it was brought up in the past, but it was bugging me tonight when I was listening to DY so I figured I'd cry about it. Didn't Tommy say, "hey Glen, I wrote that melody before like 11 years ago." I have just been wondering that for a long time.

To tell you the truth, the first time I heard "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye" I laughed out loud and started singing "Where You Goin' Now." But I doubt that Glen is even familiar with that song, it wasn't that big of a hit and it faded away very quickly. Even "Where You Goin' Now" comes off to me like a cheap re-write of "High Enough." Every song sounds like something else. Tommy probably didn't even remember that melody. You know, fans take this stuff WAY more seriously than the performers do sometimes. It's just a job.

I tend to defer to your knowledge in these matters. Us, as fans do take things a little too serious at times.
