His band is quite astonishingly awesome. You will be very impressed

Phenomenal show. My wife liked it better than the Styx show we saw a few months ago. So that's the casual fan opinion.

My take:

If you want a greatest hits Styx show - you can't top DDY's current band.

If you want to dig deeper into the catalog like I do = The current Styx are a well oiled machine and fantastic.

Pat Benatar was also really good.

Yep they go way deep with classics like Blue Collar Man Renegade and Fooling Yourself oh wait that's DDY
Ok they go way deep with Lady, Come Sail Away and Grand Illusion oh wait DDY again
I got it they go way deep with High Enough oh wait that's Damn Yanks ,
Walrus ? no that's Beatles
Babe, Show Me The way, Don't Let It End and Rocking The Paradise DDY again
I guess they aren't going anywhere

We need current STYX for what reason?

That's Dennis's road gear wheeled box thing. It's from when he was in Styx

Dennis' band seems to get better and better with time. It would be nice if he would record an album with his current band.

As Dennis said last night. "How many of you have never seen me live?"

Portion of the crowd raises hands.

Dennis: "I'm 64 years old, WTF were you waiting for?"

I'd like to see them record as well.

If DDY removed Suzanne from the stage, I might go. Why compare the two bands? Why not see both and be happy.

I'm Ok, Castle Walls, Man In The Wilderness. Those are pretty deep cuts. Who wants to hear Styx music with that broad swaying in the background protecting Dennis.

If Dennis did an album and allowed Tom Sharpe to have some creative input, that album would be breaking into uncharted territory as far as style goes. Dennis's style mixed with Tom's would be very cinematic, progressive, and outright amazing. I'm all for this.

From their perspective, maybe....But, from realities perspective, he's been saying it for oever five years.

Does he still do the comment about his son doing the lights?

Does the crowd still sit down through %90 of the show?
