Of course Masque, Monker et al won't see this...
But somehow I think they would be the first ones to condemn this jewelry if it was Suzanne DeYoung and not Jeanne Shaw who was teaming up with Diane Warner.....

Let's remember all the numbskulls up in arms about Dennis's connection to finesse. Well, what now?

you people truly amaze me....here's my take;
i totally agree that selling the jewelry is something i would not do.....i think it's lame in fact.....BUT I am not surprised nor does it stop me from being able to like the band or going to see them live.....to me they still put on a great live show........
i have been listening to to styx since i was five years old thanks to an older brother and they were the first band I remember listening to and they have always been one of my favorites if not my main favorite.
long before their breakup after kilroy and all the news of infighting we've learned over the years I was always more of a fan of tommy's songs than dennis's and I was always a huge fan of JY just being JY....his songs (although less than the otehrs) were some of my faves.....tunes like great white hope, the overplayed miss america and half penny two penny were and still are great songs.
I'm taking NOTHING away from dennis....he is awesome, he was the leader of the band, he helped rework songs like crystal ball and renegade into instand classics.......he was the main producer of the "styx sound" he has tremenouds styx songs as well, come sail away and best of times being two of their best etc....etc....etc..... i do believe all of that was true.
BUT, I also dont like songs like babe, first time and dont let it end.....i can tolerate them on occasion but i much prefer the side of styx that was renegade, blue collar man, come sail away and fooling yourself.
to my ears a song like boat on the river is 100% different than babe....one song is super dark and extremely cool and the other song is a beautiful love ballad to your wife....two great songs but i prefer the first.
I PREFER dennis be with styx.....but unlike some of the folks on here i try not to take sides.....I actually have seen both live and think they both do a good job. to me they are clearly stronger togethr than apart. but gowan is a good replacement....he has great stage presence and i enjoy him with the band....he cant come close to dennis as a singer but he is an ok singer. dennis is still great vocally and his stage antics still make me cringe but his in between song banter wioth the crowd is very funny stuff.
but it's not up to me to decide if they play music together or they get led around like puppies by their wives......I do agree that tommy's wife is no doubt the ringleader in this jewelry thing and like i said above it's something i wouldnt do. but they have chosen to. no big deal.
I also wouldnt let dennis's wife parade around on stage like she's a part of his band but he does and it's a joke...but once again his choice, his career.... no big deal.
what i will say about some of the folks on here is that they are shit stirrers, and sometimes flat out cruel in how hateful they are towards some of the folks on here that are clear supporters of the current version of styx. it's just a rock band......i dont understand why what they are doing or not doing with dennis or jewelry or coffee or dog collars or whatever makes any damn difference in whether you want to go see them live when they blow thru town or wheteher you want to dig out the grand illusion and listen to it. or most importantly why it bothers you so much that other folks actually enjoy and support this band....it's just crazy.

Some here wouldn't let Gowan parade around stage performing Dennis' Styx material, but it's the bands choice and not the end of the world. They are just voicing their opinion\viewpoint. I see no difference.

The difference is the post you quoted ends with, "no big deal". People like you not only make Gowan performing Dennis songs a 'big deal', you make it the only reason you post about Styxl

speaking of Suzanne, I wish Dennis would not have her on stage with him. It looks so odd with stuck way back in the corner of of the stage. I wonder if that mic she uses is even turned on?

Wonder if it is for financial/accounting reasons. i.e. if she is really part of the band, there are some legit business travel expenses.

I have been upfront on her side of the stage before and i can honestly say i don't hear her. Though i guess that's a good thing.

Chix dig Styx
There are plenty of overweight middle aged women that would like to have a trinket from Styx.
What's wrong with making a few bucks off of it?

I don't think Suzanne is going to buy anything from Styx.
