I wouldn't be able to keep his rigorous schedule and hold that band together for a year, let alone for thirty-five+ years (many will argue that was never a large role of his, but they are wrong there). Add to that the health issues his wife has had these last few years...ugh. Let's just say, I admire his strength. A lot. I too agree that "things" seem to be lightening up, for the most part, in all the camps - which is great, regardless of the outcome. Growing up with these guys makes them a family, of sorts, and I like it when this 'family' is content and relaxed, not harboring resentment and stress.
I may not be JY's biggest fan, but I do agree with you here. JY has played a big role behind the scenes in some of the day-to-day stuff and always has IMO That is/was the strength of Styx - everyone brought something to the party. And what a lovely dysfunctional family we all are

He's the only band member I've actually never interacted with but everyone to a person has had nice things to say - seems like a genuinely nice guy. Whether you like his voice or not or feel he's an adequate replacement for DDY or not, I maintain he always comes from a standpoint of respect. For awhile, I thought it was Glen, Todd, and him who had more respect for the DDY-era than TS or JY.
