Styx/REO TONIGHT!!!

Postby Liam » Sun May 13, 2012 12:12 am

I'm PUMPED. First show back at the Woodlands in 5 years. :)

No Uncle Ted tonight, so I'm hoping they both play longer than a 10 song set...a rather boring set at that. Only bright spot looks like Man In The Wilderness

It was a tie between option 2 & 3 8) Maybe you'll get a couple good trouble tunes that reo has
pulled out of the cobb webs after a 30 year absence.

Nope...not longer sets like I had hoped. They got a dude named Pat Travers to open. Damn

These 11 song sets are pretty pathetic.

Talk to the promoters. THEY control how much time they have. They would love
to play all night if they could.

The band members choose to tour their brand into the ground so that they need 1-2 other bands to get an audience and play shorter sets as a result. The promoters aren't to blame for that.

Will probably never see either of these bands again. Sad since I've been a fan of REO for 32 years.

Ok...this is a first. REO was pretty boring to me. Seemed like a "going through the motions" set...maybe it was just the night, I dunno. Pat Travers surprised the hell out of me...nice bluesy ROCK. Styx came out, and set the place on fire. I'm dead on my feet right now...so I'll field any questions tomorrow. LOL

BTW...it was Travers, REO, then Styx. Again...tired.

Yes indeed. It WAS the first time I'd ever seen the reserved section start to pile out, while the lawn stayed put during Styx. CRAZY.

Saw them Thursday night and to our shock, Tommy came out to the waiting masses by their buses!!! Kind of rarity with him!
