Black Sabbath Erases The Existence Of Bill Ward From Their Official Website

We must admit, we were pretty excited to hear that the original Black Sabbath line-up was supposed to reunite this year for a tour and a new album. However, due to guitarist Tony Iommi’s cancer treatment, the tour was scrapped and replaced with a few gigs in the U.K. and one in the U.S. The U.S. date was confirmed by the founder of Lollapalooza Perry Farrell, who explained to us that the reunited Black Sabbath would headline at this year’s festival in Chicago. Which of course, excited a lot of fans. (Us too!)
Earlier in the week, though, former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward posted a statement on his official website to announce that he’s definitely not reuniting with Sabbath for the upcoming shows because he feels the contract they offered him was unfair. The rocker explained that after a final effort, he still hasn’t reached an agreement with the band and therefore won’t be playing at the three shows Sabbath has lined up. Bill explained, “It is with a very sad heart that I bring you this news. I am sincerely passionate in my desire to play with the band and I’m very, very sorry that it’s fallen to this.” Ward added that he doesn’t blame his band mates but feels it’s “sad that it’s come to this.”
Well now, the band has released a statement of their own saying that they won’t be commenting on what Bill said but that “there are two sides to every story.” The statement goes on to say, “We have been working hard at rehearsals making excellent progress after [guitarist] Tony [Iommi]’s treatments and we have engaged a substitute drummer for the forthcoming shows.” So, not only are they seeking out a replacement for Ward, but Brooklyn Vegan noticed they even went as far as cropping him out of classic images that on BlackSabbath.com! We hope this is just a misunderstanding and the guys bounce back from this. We (and all of the fans) would hate to see this reunion, 33 years in the making, fall apart.

The reunion isn't 33 years in the making. It is 7 years in the making.

Why do bands erase the history of a band? It's not like the fans don't know.

Just because someone is in a band doesn't mean that they're any less pathetic then the average human being. Petty stupid games explain why Bill Ward and Dennis DeYoung are erased from their respective website.

Egos and petty bullshit is what comes to mind. The thing of it is that it only seems to satisfy those that do these childish acts.

Not the same thing at all you jackass. Bill Ward most likely thinks he deserves 25% of the revenue. Most of his statement have made it very clear that it's a monetary issue. In that band Ozzy is the talent (for lack of a better term) while Geezer and Tony are the writers. Somehow I think they deserve a bit more than Mr. Ward no matter if he's an original or not. Bill Ward made the decision not to sign... DDY wasn't given one. Petty is removing ones existence from a bands' past because he's the reason why you were successful and you don't wanna face it.

and more....

At the request of Bill Ward, through his attorney, so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current Black Sabbath lineup, we have temporarily removed Bill Ward's images from the main pages of the blacksabbath.com official website. In accordance with Bill Ward's attorney's request, we are doing so for the duration of the forthcoming shows.

This is just to silly all around, the cropping of the photos that is. Wouldn't it have just been better for them to request that they post a statement on the site stating that Bill Ward has decided not to join the band on the current tour dates?

Man, Tommy Clufetos was just hammering those drums. He's one of my favorite drummers and is definitely the next best thing to Bill Ward being there
