Nice! Haven't seen the Edge stuff before. Cool to see John there.
I've got the Fooling Yourself video somewhere on VHS.
What's the story on "Not Dead Yet"?
Why did Styx do a tune they didn't write? Was that something they
were obligated to do? I've got Sterling's book and it talks about it, but
I've forgotten the story.

They were given a truckload of money to record it with DDY on lead vocals and put it on Edge.

You got it Yogi. When they were on rockline they said Ralph Covert gave them a pile of money to do it.

This has been years in the making. I bought a DVD recorder back in 2000 or so with the intent of transfering all my VHS tapes to DVD. It has taken YEARS to get it done and I am still not even close. I finally got around to my Styx videos in the summer of 2011. Now, in 2012 I am working on converting them from DVD to YouTube files. Here are some more:
Love At First Sight video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i46SIrxq ... e=youtu.be
MTV promo about Solar Genny One, used to record Kilroy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96IoQmlE ... e=youtu.be
Majority For Musical Morality billboard:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOCLcnmD ... e=youtu.be
Dennis and Gary talk about Music Time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mECiEVYbhRc&feature=plcp
I also noticed that theses videos are in the left channel only. I have no idea why there is no right channel on audio.
Roboto Commercial:

Dennis said that as a joke on Rockline. It's not true. He heard the song around Chicago when the Bad Examples had it out, liked it and thought it was the kind of thing Styx would never write for themselves, so he cut it on the band. Just for kind of a departure for their comeback.

I can't believe it's been 20 years since the Edge album (and how young Glen looks)

Wasn't Not Dead Yet written by JY's business partner for his record label, Ralph Covert? I think that is how it came about but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm not sure if there was a partnership with Covert, but I know The Bad Examples was one of those local bands that was always in The Illinois Entertainer which btw had a great spread about Styx when the Edge album came out (coincidentally, Covert now makes children's albums under the name "Ralph's World")

A couple more. The first is a show called This Week's Music. Dennis performs solo. Porbably from 1984.

I have the Aresinio show taped on VHS from the airdate. Right before Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

First off, thanks SO much for posting these on YouTube, Mike. They are terrific!
I agree with Gr8. "Not Dead Yet" is, well, gr8!! Love Dennis' green and blue stage outfit. Ok. He does NOT have those moves like Jagger, but his mullet was EPIC and that song rocks your socks off.
Loved the Nina Blackwood "impersonation". Prince's tour schedule = LOLZ!
Sorry, but Dennis was damn cute back in the day.
Wonderful, archival stuff, for sure.

Not sure, but I believe Not Dead Yet lyrics were mangled in the first verse. Something didn't sound right.
The wardrobe in all of these videos was just plain bad. Man, the 80's were a bad time for hair and clothing. There was no shame whatsoever that decade.

Your right. The lyrics were messed up more then once. Hey live tv.

By any chance does someone have a video of glen on a tv show where his
house got "robbed"? I had it on a dvd-r a few years ago but it fails to work now
so I tossed it. Thanks in advance.

I might go all out today, and purchase it on I-Tunes.
Thankfully he doesn't move like Jagger.
Jagger's gotta have the worst stage moves of them all.

Actually that is how Dennis did the lyrics in concert too. It's different than on the album. When I saw them twice in 91 he sang it just like in this clip.

Dennis has put the video "This Weeks Music" clip on his website.
He has also added a new note with some photos from Vegas.
