Ok we all know they aren't gonna play the whole song. But how
about starting the show with the intro of the song. Kinda what
they did with the light up/put me on intro they did a couple years
ago. What do you you guys think good, bad or terrible idea?

Interesting thought.....and it's an interesting conundrum. Styx has so many fans out there that are younger, that weren't around when the whole Kilroy mess happened, and the song has gained a certain hipness with them, so naturally, they want to hear the song. However, for a lot of us who were there at the time, it's cringe-worthy. I attended the Kilroy concert on Tommy's birthday in 1983 and during parts of the show I was embarrassed for the guys. I know Styx now wants to please their fans, old and new, but if I were in Tommy's or JY's shoes, I would never want to perform (or even hear) that song ever again. Frankly, I was surprised they even put a snippet of it in their medley a few years ago. For me, personally, the song just dredges up a lot of bad memories of a bad time in the band's history, and I wouldn't want to be at a show that started of with that. It wouldn't set the right tone for a concert, in my opinion. I think it would be cool to start a show with "Lights" and include a killer light show to set the mood, or even "Borrowed Time." That song has a killer intro in and of itself. Just my opinion....

I think the the only reason they have paid any attention to it at all is because of how it (Mr. Roboto) has come to be somewhat of a pop culture thing. If not for that I think they would ignore it all together. Mr. Roboto itself was somewhat of a success so personally i don't see why they shouldn't embrace that part of it.

Would certainly be a better intro than Blue Collar Man

There is some great Dennis keyboard there,but JY and Tommy has probably had enough of that song,

this incarnation of styx actually did open with borrowed time for awhile several years ago....tommy and JY traded off lines of the verse with each other.....it was great and when it got the "yes, no" part they instead went into the musical section of "pieces of eight" and then back into the solo of "borrowed time"....i thought it was brilliant, the crowd loved and then I never heard them do it again.

It was VERY VERY good. I believe that was the tour that they did with Billy Squire and Bad Company. It was a GREAT opener.

They also played part of Mr Roboto in there, about a 15 to 20 snip. The crowd went ape over it.
