If Dennis wants to make a splash - why not do a revival of Kilroy. Kitschy, nostalgic, and fun. Let August play Jonathan Chance. You know you'd want to go see it just for the curiosity factor. Crank the movie up, get Dr Righteous museum of rock history out of mothballs and make it happen...

WHY NOT KILROY:
10. Because Dennis is about to embark on his all new Boomchild Tour
9. Because Dennis has not been able to find anyone with the voice or acting talents to play Dr. Rightous.
8. Because Tommy & JY oficially have the Styx name and they are about to do it.
7. Because the fine people at Behind The Music would have to come up with some new lies when the Kilroy shows play any current venues in Texas.
6. Because with the publication of Chuck's book the song Double Life has taken on a whole new meaning.
5. Because Dr. Rightous Fried Chicken was a major source of Avian Flu and all of their businesses have folded.
4. Because there is no way Dennis can fit his depends under his roboto suit.
3. Because the newer model Robotos all wear protective cups.
2. Because as Barack told Mitt on Monday night the Cold War is now over.
1. Because why would you want to make the same mistake twice?

Would actually make sense for the 30th anniversary.

He should do it for a couple of nights in Vegas

Definitely true. He put together a truly fantastic band...I would like to see them change up their set a little bit though

While I found the Kilroy concept interesting at presenting a message, I was more interested in the music then the message. It was clear to me once seeing the show and CTA that this was a concept that was never totally fleshed out or due to not all members being on board with the idea that a huge portion of the full concept was left on the cutting room floor. If it was to be done exactly as before I would say that would not be a good idea.

Kilroy was done using the personalities of the band. It would be lame to do it with the current band for that reason. If it's just "playing the album Kilroy Was Here", that'd work. But to have someone else as Righteous, Chance, etc. would be kind of funky because they'd be playing those characters- as played by the original guys. As an example- Lawrence doesn't ACT like Dennis. Having Dennis' guys ACT as the others would be funky, not to mention kind of doing them a disservice. Who knows, August and the other guy might go "wow, I kinda see why JY and Tommy didn't dig this much". Wouldn't want that. Also, Styx HAD personalities. Kind of like The Beatles where there were at least 3 main personalities, though John definitely had personality, Chuck was pretty in the background. To most Styx fans (though obviously not some that are here), it wasn't one guy and his backup band, it was a full band with 5 personalities.

The other thing is, when Romney wins, why not let it wait and let it come to you.

I for one would love to hear someone other than Tommy utter: 'Rock code'. And how about right before they play 'Havent We Been Here Before' Tommy in his most convincing whine ever says: damnit, damnit....

But will DDY's Romneisa prevent him from playing the Styx classic 'High Time'?

They were supposed to play in Seattle, but canceled.
I still have the poster for that show from the ticket agent.

Original date in June, but wound up seeing it on Tommy's birthday instead (rescheduled due to his hand injury, which at the time was released to the media as an injury sustained when Tommy broke a window to get into his house after being locked out). I remember really enjoying the show except for all the Kilroy crap. The first impression that comes to mind when I reflect on the show is embarrassment. I just cringed for all the guys....except DDY. It was obvious that he was in his element.

Well, if it was really not worth it then TS should have walked before the project was completed and gone onto something that he felt was. My guess is that at that point he didn't have a "ticket" to something that was better. The subject of that tour being a financial loss is debatable. Dennis has stated that statement is not true. The did not end that tour in the red. It may not have produced the same numbers as previous tours also they were coming off the PT tour which I believe has been stated as their most successful tour ever.

The land mines that broke up the band were laid long before KWH. It was just the last mine stepped on.

The only way it would work is if Dennis did more development on the original premis and wrote an extended number of songs. It would then have to go to Broadway or the like as it was projected. Dennis could be a special guest from time to time.

Current Styx would never allow it. Even though it would likely give them a good royalty check.

I wonder how much of the original storyline was cut out of the project since nobody but Dennis was really interested in it. I always wished Dennis would have talked about that in an interview. As far as his former band mates letting Dennis do something like this, I though Dennis personally owned most of the stuff behind KWH anyway.

the tour lost money when they played theatres, but when they took it to arenas they more than covered their costs, as for doing it now, no way to make money on that production
