Was looking around the Styx ITunes page and can't find Return to Paradise, Brave New World, or Cyclorama? Anyone know if those are now out of print?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the CMC defunct? If they are I think that would explain why they are not on there. I also would believe those three albums are OOP.

Yeah, they are gone in every format. I don't know if it is because CMC is gone or if BMG/Universal just has no interest in releasing it. However, Arch Allies (CMC International) is on iTunes. Universal Music now owns the rights and since they also own A&M I see no reason why they are not available digitially or on CD. As for the A&M catalog, the classic albums are still available on CD except Edge Of The Century (Big Bang Theory is also out of print).

I also see a cheap "Grand Illusion Live" on iTunes and have wondered what show it is from. It sounds like one of the boots I already have but much shorter. Might be from Winterland or the Providence show.

I can see Brave New World and Cyclorama not being available as they didn't sell even when they were released. And, its been...wait for it..16 years since Brave New World! But Return to Paradise was a Gold Album and is really the best "live" recorded version of the original band. Ironic that the poorer recorded/sounded Caught In The Act is still available, but RTP is not. What sold more copies? I remember Caught being a huge disappointment sales-wise. Did it even achieve gold status?

I think it just boils down to there is not enough sales or interest in Styx' catalog for the label(s) to be bothered investing in it.

I actually wanted to buy Brave New World a few weeks ago on iTunes. Disappointed that it's not on there

What investment is there? Put an electronic copy out on ITunes. I would think the cost is minimal to keep it out there.

Seems to me that the labels are not going to do anything, no matter the costs if they feel an artist's or band's catalog is dead. They are paying zero attention to it.

Well, you could contact JY. I believe he still makes cassette copies on his home stereo like he did for City Slicker. 8) 8)

Yep, JY would use his living room stereo. Put in a cassette and manually record each side for his loyal fans. Some days, he'd have as many as 3 tapes to make. But nothing would stop him from getting the fans their music.
