Twelve more days and I'll be buying my first new Styx album since 2003. Can't wait to drive through the nearby national forest and listen to The Mission from start to finish. I really didn't think we would get to hear a new Styx album.

I'm hearing lots of good things about this album! I hope it lives up to the hype.

I'm looking forward to listening to the new album but I am not setting my expectations too high. Hopefully I get blown away and that I am wrong.

I've been very impressed with the two tracks that have been released. Great vibe and great sound. My expectations are pretty high

I've checked everyday for the past week and have not found any type of leak. I already have mine on order along with a vinyl copy. It seems leaks are much more under control these days. This is good news!

Hundred Million Miles From Home was played on SiriusXM Classic Rewind yesterday. I missed it, but people who heard said it was brilliant.

I do, however, have a hunch that I won't be able to find it as easily as I am hoping. Much of the music channels are programmed in a second system to the talk channels that I work on. (I'll ask around. After the crazed euphoria I walked around in, on the day of Styx's live performance/taping, most people know how much I like Styx! HAHAHA!)

OK! Got it! Heard it!

Hundred Million Miles has a strong funky Shooz vibe, to my ears. I'm thinking Shooz meets Joe Walsh/funky Eagles. Catchy chorus with solid harmonies (although they aren't as classic Styx sounding as you might expect). Guitar solo is unexpected, as it sounds like they used a talkbox or some similar sounding effect. Overall a strong 70s rock vibe.

Thanks for the update! It is a talk box on the solo. I read someplace that it was the last overdub recorded for the album. I would think that SiriusXM would have a copy of the album floating around the studio soon. Let us know if you get to hear the album before the release. It's interesting to get early reviews.

SHAW: The chorus was always the thing that the song had to rise up to meet, and it was worth taking the time to do that. The last overdub on the record was that guitar solo. I generally like compositional solos, but I always wanted to do one with a talk box.

I know very well a host that got to hear the whole thing. She even said that she would have passed it on to me. However, it was apparently given to her in a special, temporarily-working format. So, in other words, there was nothing to pass on.

That's how they've been sending it to reviewers and DJs. Self destructing files that help mitigate the chances of the album being leaked. 9 days to go and it still hasn't leaked. Amazing.

I'm really expecting since mine was shipped from Styx.world.com yesterday It will arrived tomorrow or Friday.

Keep us posted Yogi. No idea why all of them were not shipped out yet. Looking forward to this as well. I ordered on record only. I figured since this was a 70's style release I would hear it for the first time on vinyl (although I did order the first 2 songs on iTunes). Can't wait to do a needle drop on it.

Nothing like turning it over to play side 2! I'm doing the same.

I bought the album also. Only 1 album but 2 CDs

It just showed My X2 ( PREORDER) Styx Locomotive Bundle was shipped today
It gives me my order # on one line then my shipping provider USPS on the next line then my tracking number.
I can also click to view my receipt

I normally get new releases at 10:50PM on Thursday. But that is central time. It would 11:50 eastern time.

This is the first album I've ever been waiting for that hasn't leaked. Impressive
