Album Peak Weeks on Chart
Paradise 1 61
Cornerstone 2 60
Kilroy 3 34
Grand Illusion 6 127
Pieces of Eight 6 92
Styx II 20 19
The Mission 45 2
Big Bang 46 2
Equinox 58 50
Edge 63 38
Crystal Ball 66 18
Cyclorama 127 1
So, this is interesting - you have the big 5 as the highest peaking and longest lasting albums on the charts. Then you have Styx II which was on to the extent of Lady's chart run. Then you have the "pretenders" - The Mission and Big Bang which had a nice peak, but only were on the chart for 2 weeks. In other words, rigged to achieve a high chart position and then were done. Has Brusco written all over it. Then you have Equinox and Edge which didn't have impressive chart peaks but were on the chart for a decent amount of time (9 months for Edge and almost a year for Equinox). Interesting that Edge and Equinox were on the charts longer than Kilroy. (Thanks Tommy Shaw for screwing up the singles for that one with your big baby tantrum on HWBHB and impacting Kilroy chart length.) Then you have Crystal Ball which never got off the ground very well (wait, wasn't that the great Tommy Shaw's first album? And they took a step back?). Then you have Cyclorama which was really before Brusco figured out how you could rig the system.
To that end, the big 5 dominate here then you have Styx II, Equinox, and Edge and really being the albums with the best overall chart performance. Of those 8, Tommy Shaw performs on 5. DDY performs on 8. DDY produces all 8. DDY conceptualizes all 8.
Mic drop.
