BGO Records remasters

Postby StyxGuy » Wed Aug 07, 2019 1:54 am

Hey everyone!

So this BGO Records in the UK has Caught in the Act [2018], Equinox/Crystal Ball [2006] and Desert Moon/Back To The World [2013]

Just wondering if anyone has purchased these before and had any comments on them (did BGO remaster all of them from original tapes? Do they sound better versus other releases?)

I’ve got the Equinox/ Crystal Ball and also the Equinox/ Edge of the Century remasters and the sound great. Glen autographed the Equinox/ Edge of the Century remaster and he commented he had never seen this before.

Got them in! They were out of the Tommy Shaw one, so I got BTO & BTO II. Can't wait to listen!

Wow, Caught In The Act is so good!

I honestly suggest it to anyone who likes the album but finds it too 'flat'... they have remastered this so well!

Yeah the original CITA CD was a little flat. I have the remastered vinyl from a couple of years ago and it sounds good. That's plenty for me, no need to buy yet another copy of CITA.

The last round of Japanese mini-LP CDs to me is still the best sounding Styx in digital format sans maybe the PT SHM-SACD.

A friend of mine living in Japan was able to find me the Equinox and PT for when he came home to visit, he's back in December and I might have him try to find whatever else he can in the catalogue.

I'll be grabbing the new BGO release of GI / Edge as I do enjoy collecting unique releases :)
