Appleton (WI) Review - Dennis

I ended up going to see Dennis play in Appleton (Wisconsin) this past Friday night. It was another great concert. "Castle Walls" still amazes me hearing it live. "Suite Madame Blue" was great to hear again too, I can keep hearing that song over and over live with an orchestra. Dennis was having a good time with the crowd and the crowd was having a great time with him. He was in Packer territory and he asked "how about them Packers", with the crowd response I felt like I was in a stadium with 40,000 fans. Then he mentioned that he was a Bears fan, well I hate to say it, he was booed
But then he made it up by saying that he was rooting for the Packers and again the crowd went wild.
He received a couple standing ovations throughout the night, the biggest for the song "With Every Heartbeat" so he added at the song "Esmerelda" with Amick Byram singing (at the last second). Another wonderful song to hear live. For those who think he sings "showtunes" all the time better come and see this show - you'll change your mind.
At the end singing "Come Sail Away" it was the loudest crowd that I heard sing it in a while. The lighting for the show was great and very noticeable, I love the added colors. The set list was the same as the recent concerts. His jokes were really funny and the crowd was laughing hard. His concert with the intermission went almost 3 hours. It was wonderful to see a concert with such a variety in music and added comedy.
At his shows, his Soundstage DVD, new live double CD, Hunchback cd, Suzanne's book and added a new DENNIS TOUR T-SHIRT were for sale. In Milwaukee his new cd sold out and looked like they were gone or almost gone at the end again. Quite a few people were wearing the new t-shirt during the show.
I can't wait for Chicago next month
