Styx Lounge

Postby StyxWizard » Tue Feb 03, 2004 7:21 am

Hello all ! Have not posted in a while. Anyone know anything about the Styx lounge? I would like to see what kind of discussions take place there but I find the $30.00 annnual fee to be an insult. They are not in thier hayday and should not charge for a oppourtunity to post on thier site in my opinion. What say you all ?
If you were given just one minute to chose a dream and stay there in it...... how would you decide????

Styxwizard,

I agree wholeheartedly with your take.....there at very least ought to be a smaller fee ( $5 ? ) for a 30 day trial so one can decide if it's for you....I'd also say the $5 should apply towards the $30 if you decide to join.

There is precious little on the Web I am willing to pay for.....I do subscribe to a site devoted to my favorite NFL team, but the fee is nominal and the information received is a bargain when compared to the cost of a subscription to the newspaper that sponsors it.....

Maybe if this were 1977 ( but with the internet ) this would be a no-brainer. I wonder is Styxlounge has a money back guarantee ? Has anyone out there made the investment ? do the boys come by and chat ? if so, how does anyone know it's really them ?

The Styxlounge is a waste of money if what you are interested in is the chat room. Hell, its MUCH better here!!! Where else do you get to talk to the likes of Suite Man Hands Blue, and I Take My Vow of Silence Now... I mean Now.... Froy. What may be worth it is when Styx offered Golden Circle Seating if you were a member of The Lounge. The ticket prices are the same and you get first or second row seats. By me being a member I got front row of an Arch Allies Tour show that sold over 12,000 seats in Houston, I also got Row Two When Styx headlined with Bad Company in San Antonio. That concert drew over 9,000 fans. To me the cost was well worth it for the GREAT concert seats. After they toured with Bad Company they stopped offering Golden Circle Seating. If its back, the cost is worth it if you plan on attending any concerts. If there is no Golden Circle seating then the lounge is a rip off.

Yogi,

Thanks for the info.........so the chat in the Styxlounge doesnt comare to here, eh ? I suppose there aren't many dissenting voices there, who will call a spade a spade.

It might be fun to join just to stir the drink a little......but not worth $30. Think if all the world's type 1's joined at the same time , and took over the Styx lounge for a week or 2 ( before being kicked out , that is..... cant believe 21st century Styx would allow that for very long......) That would be hysterical, sort of like out ol' pal new Shooz, minus the
vulgar language !

To the best of my knowledge not a single band member ever came on line with the fans. There was plenty of DDY chat, pretty much like here. You could voice your opinion either way without getting the boot(unlike the Journey fourm). There was moore Styx Now hero worship in the chat rooms, but I think alot of that was due to the fact that Tommy's wife's entire Biology class logged on a couple of times from school, and some of her other chums also are allowed to play with Moms computer at home from time to time when its too rainy to go outside and play. I would never log on to chat then. It makes me a little nervous to be chatting with 14 year old girls. Still the ONLY reason it was worth the30 dollars was for the concert seating. Once they cut that out I was no longer a member. If they start the Golden Circle Seating again and Styx is touring close to me for SURE I will join again. If not its a TOTAL rip off!!

The gold circle seats were worth the $50, when we saw them and REO in Kentucky. In addition, I have not ever had to renew, so it is not an annual fee. But I did stop going in there. It seems to be populated by predominately female tommy worshiping groupies who want to talk more about his ass or Glen's wardrobre than the music or anything of any substance. I did actually speak briefly to Mr Shaw one night late in the chat room...pretty cool, until one of the Bobby Sherman/David Cassidy idol worhipers showed up...yawn....

I think so Space, but last time I looked at one of their jackets it was very over priced (IMO)....
