WHAT IF??

Had too start off a new ASSEMBLY LINE by naming it after one of the WORST albums ever. Here's a question really aimed at ALL of you Type 1's , but I would like EVERYONES opinion. What happens if Dennis comes back, but Chuck doesnt? Is this now 'Classic' Styx ? What happens if Dennis comes back, no Chuck, and Gowan sticks to play keyboards, and do an occasional song or two, Ricky is on bass? Is this 'Classic' Styx? How about Dennis replaces Lawerence, but Chuck does not come back, and Ricky is on bass, is this 'Classic' Styx? Finally what happens if Chuck comes back FULL TIME to replace Ricky, but Dennis stays solo, is this 'Classic' Styx? I probably shouldnt even asked that one to you Type 1's, I already know your answer. Now how do I start a couple more assembly lines titled' Out On A Day Pass' or' Desert Moon'?? I could start an 'Out On A Day Pass' assembly line over on the Journey board, it would really be fitting for many of the posters over there, as for 'Desert Moon'??????????

Yogi,

You can put anyone you want in the band from the list of past and future band members....it won't be Classic Styx, unless 3 principal members of the "classic" group truly bury the hatchet, and work together on a release that captures the magic they had between 1975 and 1981.

As much as I want that, I have ruled it out as a possibility.......so there will never be another coming ofwhat I consider Classic Styx....I just don't believe the ego's involved will allow it.

They could get back together, but they'll never get the synergies that existed in that time back.

The only place I ever see these guys "burying the hatchet" is in eachother skulls.

For the record - What If is an OK record... it did have some bright moments in it..... but I really can't listen to "Out on a Day Pass".

I've made a playlist in my iTunes of Solo songs from the three solo albums... mostly from City Slicker (JY), Ultimate Collection (DDY) and 7 Deadly Zens (although I threw in some Shaw/Blades and ). The only album I didn't include any songs from was Out On A Day Pass. I'm sorry but that album just didn't do anything for me.
