I don't have time to go through every Styx song and see how many albums, cds & 8 track tapes (LOL) they've been on. But to me, it's sure fun to see how many times Blue Collar Man has been released :D

These are just the American releases, BCM was released QUITE a few more times in Japan, Canada, Holland and Germany so it if adds to the count.

Some of these were first released on an album and then became available on cd.

Pieces of Eight 1980
Caught In The Act - Live 1984 & 1991
AM 25th Anniversary Classics Vol. 15 1987
Styx Radio Made Hits 1975-1991 1991
Styx Greatest Hits (I) 1995
Return To Paradise 1997
Arch Allies 2000
Styx Extended Versions-The Encore Collection 2000 (BMG)
Styx 20th Century Masters-The Millenium Collection 2002
Styx At The River's Edge-Live In St. Louis (CD) 2002
Styx Rockers 2003

I'm just making a point. I love Styx, Classic Styx is my favorite band. When are these Greatest Hits cd's going to end? I didn't even add the bootlegs that are out there too with Blue Collar Man.

How many songs does Dennis recycle??????????

The Grand Illusion- The Grand Illusion, Caught In The Act, Return To Paradise, The Ultimate Collection, DDY Now Live With Symphoney and The Entire Deyoung Clan

Paradise- Hunchback, and Brave New World

While Theres Still Time- Hunchback, Brave New World

Beneathe The Moon- Hunchback, Boomchild

Lets list the TOTALLY new songs Dennis has come up with since 1996. Its a pretty damn short list for such a musicial genius.

Rumor has it that Yoko is going to have to put her new book in anything new Dennis comes up with to help it sell. According to soundscan&writer magazine, her book is outselling Dennis's latest CD release. Which I hate to point out is basically nothing more than the same songs with a twist But,you know what ? I am glad its out there, so I get to decide if I want to purchase it or not. As much as Froy and some of you others would like to decide what products should and shouldnt be on the market I thank God I live in America where the MANUFACTURER takes a risk, puts a product out there and lets the consumer decide!! As JY once said"WE ALL KNOW ITS THE AMERICAN WAY"

Some of you ought to head to Cuba!!!!!!!!

Yogi, I'm so glad that I didn't have to wait all day for a response from you, whew

I'm just having fun with you, lighten up. I'm sure if we went through each of the "popular" Styx songs we could find similiar results. It's Friday, the weekends almost here, relax.

Anyway, I'm curious to know what the additional songs that will be added and what's inside the booklet. I'm sure the record company that puts it out decides what songs will be included. But I know for a FACT that JY and Tommy put together Rockers, this was not completely from the record company.

Yogi, I hope you have a GREAT day :)

Hey Suite, I've seen Styx and some other bands with that "Extended Versions" compilation and I'm a bit puzzled. The versions of the songs aren't any different from the originals, are they? Despite my curiousity, I've never actually bought one of these compilations. I guess I just figured the "extended" in the title was a marketing ploy! Any idea?

Well I'm not Suite, and I can't answer for the other bands, but I can tell you that the Styx Extended Versions are live cuts from the RTP concert cd.So I guess, yes, it's a marketing ploy. Hope that helps.
