I'm sure that most of us on the board own a nice selection of Styx cds/albums and solo cds/albums.

Instead of going through the whole list of what every one owns. I was wondering which ones you don't own.

These are the ones that I don't own:

Lady: The Encore Collection
Arch Allies: Live at Riverport
Styxworld
Cyclorama
Rockers

I don't own any of JY's solo material, but I'm seriously thinking of buying them to hear the songs.

I don't own any of Glen's or Larry's solo material either.

Tommy Shaw:
Girls With Guns (1984)
What If (1985)
Live In Japan (Japan) (1985)

This is just a friendly post. Hopefully we can have a nice discussion about the albums and go into the songs again. :)

Hey group!
This is my first time posting here! I'm interested in getting some Styx stuff. Mostly solo stuff and rare live stuff. I don't have a lot of Styx to trade yet, but have tons of other things. Check out my website and then drop me a line!

Suite:

Here's what I don't have:

Wooden Nickel albums (used to have Styx II, but lost the cassette).
Equinox (on the way from Amazon as I type).
Crystal Ball (also lost the cassette, I have plans to replace).
Caught In The Act (same as Crystal Ball).
Edge Of The Century
Tommy's solo albums except 7DZ (used to have the others on cassette, but got rid of them).
Dennis' solo albums except Ultimate Collection (used to have Desert Moon but the songs I liked are on UC).
JY's solo stuff.
All the recent studio compilations.
Arch Allies (Styx only, I have the REO/Styx one).
Glen's solo stuff.
Larry's solo stuff.
The hits compilation that came out before GH 1 and 2 (forgot what it's called).

I've been thinking a lot lately about picking up some of the Wooden Nickel stuff, after reading so many of the flattering posts here. I'm undecided about getting the old Shaw stuff on CD. I only liked a song here or there. I'm pretty sure I'll stay away from the DDY and JY solo stuff. I've occasionally thought about checking out the Gowan or Burtnik stuff.

I HONESTLY believe that I've got em all. I do lack some of Gowan's, but I own his Greatest Hits CD( only 3 minutes long... right Froy???), and the CD with Criminal Mind on it. I own 4 of Glens CD's: Heros & Zeros,Retrospective, Polokiville, and 1 other I cant remember the name of it. Ive got all the Wooden Nickel CD's, some real rare Japanese, German& European stuff releases. All the solo material from the BIG THREE(first print Desert Moon&Girls with Guns). I also own a JY CD titled The Big Tall Blond guy from Styx.Damn Yankees,Shaw/Blades, Gowan with The WayOuts, you name it. Its the only vice I have left. I am looking VERY forward to Welcome To Hollywood's June second release.

Wow, Yogi, you are SERIOUS about the boys, at least where having everything they've released goes......

Tell me, other than you're Favorites ( Equinox, GI, and Cyclorama if I remember correctly ) how often do you listen to the rest ? I'm guessing there are 6-10 CD's in there that would be covered in dust if not for the Jewel cases. Am I correct ?

Or can you listen to music while you are at work ?

If I listen to a greatest hits type of CD it's Styx Golden Collection. I dont know where its from, but thats the one, or the double CD from Korea are the Greatest Hits type CD I usually grab for. I dont listen to the compilations very often though. I have heard the hits TOOOOO many times. I listen to Shaw/Blades(Japan) alot, 7 Deadly Zens(Japan), and Ambition quite a bit. I have Equinox&Edge on a single CD I got a while back on E-Bay. That one is in heavy rotation. I also listen to Boomchild,Back To The World, Dont Tread,City Slicker, Raised By Wolves, and The JY The Big Tall Blond Guy from Styx quite often. I have a 12 disc changer under my car seat so alot of those CD's are usually in my changer.

I know most of you are REALLY down on JY, but the JY CD I am referring to is REALLY good. I saw it a couple of times for sale on E-bay. The bids were tooo high 80-120 dollars. I called Absolute Records in Chicago, and they sold me 3 of the CD's for 12 bucks a piece. That was a few years ago, but then they had over 100 copies left. I asked them how many copies they had. They were really nice there. It's worth it, if you like JY's music at all. There is 15 songs plus a couple of commercials about the JY Group's upcoming concerts on the CD.
