Tour location

It seems like Styx won't be visiting NH this summer . Journey is playing at Meadow Brook in Gilford where Styx has played the last 3 years. To bad this would be my 11 year old daughters 4th Styx concert.

There is such JOY in Froy's words. What a happy guy!

I heard that Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch was going to take Todd's place when he leaves Styx next year... any truth to that?

That may be very well true Gary.

However, I know for a fact that Dennis, upon learning that the cause of his swelling, overheating head under the lights was actually his silver hairpiece, will be replacing it with a specially engineered Vented Coon Skin Cap - not unlike Fes Parker in HIS later years when he contracted his OWN mysterious virus which impeded him from appearing as Davey Crockett except when he felt like it.

I also heard Susan Dey ( aka Laurie Partridge ) bought herself one of those revolving / spinning keyboard setups like Gowan has.

Hmmmmmm.....

Isn't that typical Froy, If you don't care about this line up, why bother wasting your energy trashing them. DDY has come to terms with it, why can't you? Do you waste all your energy trashing other bands like Journey, Yes, Pink Floyd, Kiss and the like for key members carrying the name and continuing to play to audiences without the original lineup.

Ironically, I thought it was the deaths of JC and John Panozzo that prevents the original lineup from reuniting? But you probably don't consider them original members either. Or is any lineup that only includes Dennis a viable band?

You guys crack me up. So bitter and yet you all continue to post here. I like classic rock and I attend Styx concerts becouse my daughter happened to pick them as a favorite out of all the classic stuff I exposed her to . So seeing them together is a fun father daughter activity. Not a life long quest. As an adult my inteerest are in other areas Styx concerts are a fun deviation not a obsession as it seems to be with many of you.

Wow... thanks for that. I guess that just makes you so much better than anyone else here.

I'm a lot calmer about things now than I used to be. I've come to grips with it and I'm not as bitter. But different strokes for different folks. If people are still stewing over it wtf business is it of yours. We all handle different kinds of pain and stimuli differently. Live and let live man.

I just saw a post elsewhere that mentioned that Styx is being advertised for one of their concerts as "Styx with Tommy Shaw."

Sounds like he finally got what he wanted.

gary,
that's way over the top. Comments like that put you in the same company as Froy and I know you are better than that.

Come on. Let's not stoop to other boards guys. More important things going on. I for one enjoy coming here. Let's not say stupid/mean/hurtful things to each other that could 'cause this board to be gone. Peace huh? 8)
How about taking it to PM if you have a problem with someone :?:  :D

Onestilllearning,

I sympathize with you here believe it or not. While I personally have a problem with calling the touring band "Styx", I do not argue that they are a talented collection of musicians that does in fact contain members of the "classic" line-up and does play songs from my youth.

There are so few bands today that play Rock 'n' Roll anymore that I would recommend that you see every band you can, while you can. Original members or not. Have fun at the shows, take your kids and enjoy it while it lasts.

Then after the show we can debate about our "differences" and verbally kick each others asses. :D

Have a great time at whatever concert you or anyone else here sees.

Scott

Gary - it's so funny that "Cousin Oliver" has been brought up here a few times - LOL :) That actor is actually in a band, he plays guitar and sings.

onestilllearning, I plan on taking my oldest son to a few concerts this summer too. You never know how long they'll be out there performing. (I'm seeing Journey at a county fair.)

only in New York

The closest place to NH that Styx is playing is in NY. They're on tour to support their new compilation album- “Come Sail Away: Styx Anthology.” I've been researching them while working at UMG- They are playing in New York on June 23. One of my coworkers said he went to see the concert and it was one of the best he's seen- you'll enjoy it if you make it down to New York

Hey... I have been away but I am back now. Styxfan... I do NOT think my post was over the top. I stand behind it.
Cousin Oliver ROCKS!!
That would be a great name for a band. 8)
p.s. Froy rocks too. My criteria for someone/something "rocking" is if I would miss them if they left. So you all rock and so does Froy.
