What's the best thing, or favorite thing you own, regarding something to do with Styx of course.
Is is special because of how you got it, how rare it is, what it is, etc....?

I think I still have a tank top with roboto on it from the Kilroy tour...of cousre it doesn't fit...but collectors item

I am new to all of this, but I now have a backstage pass signed by Dennis and all of his band members. When I asked him if I could use it again, he sort of flipped the pass around and said, "I don't know. You could try."

OK, I may do that.

I have a copy of the Serpent Is Rising LP signed by Dennis, and the three pic discs which are nice, But my Styx beach ball signed by the current lineup is really special cuz it is signed by the entire lineup and my son was able to meet the guys.

No matter what I list (all favorites & priceless) that I have signed by who, the pictures that I had taken with, which members of Styx that I interviewed or had dinner with, some "lurking troll" will reply to my post that I'm bragging - LOL :wink:

I have several things that are important to me. I think we all have things we take great pride in.

One of the things I have that I find ridiculous is a signed Man of Miracles cd. The funny thing is it is signed by Tommy who doesn't even appear in the album.

I have some programs from the premier of Dennis' Hunchback musical. I really like that. There are many I could list, but I think that would be bragging :lol:

The picture I had taken with me at WLAC studios of Dennis and Myself is a high point. The autographed CD I received for helping DDY get his domain set up is another.

However, the best momento I have is the conversation I had with DDY one on one when he came to WLAC and he and I had a chance to spend several moments talking in the studio I was working in. Sometimes you only have the memories... but memories are enough if they're good enough.

Those are great. I too got lucky enough to talk to him. A stirring conversation about pagenation on cd booklets. :lol:

But it was great and I will always enjoy meeting him and talking with him.

I have a Rod Carew baseball card autographed by Wayne Gretsky.REALLY!! To me a classic would be a Dennis or Froy autographed copy of Cyclorama or Rockers . How about JY and Tommy autographing a 45 single of Babe. My most valued item is an autographed Equinox album signed by Dennis, John P. Tommy, JY, and Chuck. I didnt actually see it get signed. A friend who's brother worked for Simms Security had it signed, before the Main Event show back in 78. I sure wish John C. would of signed it!!!!!

Lord, I noticed a lot of the Kilroy Tour items are going pretty high on Ebay. My old concert t-shirts don't fit me anymore, they must've shrunk in the laundry - LOL NOT!! :shock:

styxfanNH, that's great that you're son was able to meet the band. Were you able to take any pictures of the band with your son?

I read somewhere once where a fan brought a bunch of stuff for Dennis to sign at his solo show-only thing is that it all had to do with Cyclorama! :roll:

That would be sort of funny/rare/cool though.

I have been to a lot of Styx signings and see people hand Larry all the early albums to sign.

I agree that sometimes it's more the memories of a moment spent with someone than actually having something physical.

I think unique is all what it means to you. May it be a moment, something rare signed, a special picture. Sometimes more than 'what' you have is that it's all about the moment or 'how' you got it. For instance, I don't purchase things that are auto'd. Not as much fun to me. Doesn't mean as much if I didn't get it.

Ash, I believe too that my moments and talks with Dennis mean more to me than anything physical.

Cool yogi about having something signed too by John C. I believe that to be rare and uqique.

You gotta' love all the old shirts that don't fit anymore. Like those half shirt baseball shirts. The arms are longer than the shirt!

I think all my stuff to do with The Grand Illusion signed by Dennis means the most to me because of the time I spent with him while he was doing it, then what that album means to me. It was also the day I got my first picture with him.

My newest thing that I am digging is Dennis' 'Hello God' single because it really helped me out lately and I don't believe a lot of these are going to surface.

Yogi, having Equinox signed at the time by the band members would be a really, really awesome memento. Too bad you didn't get John C's signature as well. Even though it was also signed by Tommy, that one deserves a special place indeed.

I too agree it's not worth it to buy autographed items. Much better to get them in person. However, I have also seen and been appalled by fans who don't know when to quit. They bring so many items for an artist to sign it's ridiculous. I've seen this happen at book signings, after concerts, meet & greets. While I know there are some here who cherish all that they have signed, I think that's pushing it.

And yes I realize most of these people are the ones who turn around and sell them on ebay. But I know of one who didn't. And I know the artist didn't appreciate it at all.

All of this got me thinking about how the band members have acted when signing stuff.
Dennis and Larry have always been the nicest. Larry is very kind and looks you right in the eyes. Dennis makes you feel like you are the only one in the room and will ask questions about the items if unique.
Tommy while very nice, is always so busy that you do not get his full attention.

I would say the DVD that came with my copy of Glen's Welcome To Hollywood. It's pretty great, and alot was obviously put into it.
