Yeah, I'm sick and bored........

What are your top ten songs that can include any era of Styx or solo efforts from members-past or current?

I'm very anxious to see a list of this sort. 8)

A couple of quick takes. First off, for the longest time(pre internet) I felt like I was the only one who really appreciated the brilliant hard rockin, progressive sound of the song Born For Adventure. Its hard for me to fathom that song was not, or is not a Styx or DDY concert staple. I still believe going back to record albums, no one side of an album can touch side two of Equinox. Its good to know others besides me enjoy that song.

Second, and this is for Lord, and ALL of you because you OWE it to yourself. Welcome To Hollywood can be purchased through NEH Records (888) 652-0199. Jenette will take a phone order with a major credit card. The CD is UNREAL. Its a Modern Melodic Masterpiece. Remember the MMM from the Kilroy days??? It's AWESOME!!!!!

Finally, The Pigman cometh.. EXCELLENT informative posts of late!!!! I even drove out of my way this past weekend looking for an Arbys, as a salute to you!!!!!!!

THREE WORDS TO EVERYONE... WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD!!!!

It has three Styx tracks. The guy who does King Biscuit starts off by giving the bio of Styx, then telling the recording date of this concert, I believe its in 1976 after the bio ends the show starts. The show opens with probably the Styx manager yelling "ladies and gentelmen A&M recording artists Styx" you then hear the great guitar lead, leading into Born For Adventure. Its soooo awesome(generates chills). After Born for Adventure Dennis does a super piano solo leading into Lady. After some commercials the King Biscuit guy comes back on does a bio of Supertramp. After the Supertramp bio is over Styx comes back on and plays about an 8-9 minute version of Lorreli. As soon as Lorreli is over Give A Little Bit from Supertramp starts. Styx has three songs, Supertramp has 4( I think) on the CD. The Born For Adventure recording is one of the greatest live recordings I have ever heard. Dennis ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, as does that version of Styx at that time!!

Yogi,

I have basically the same as that, only it was cut with REO instead of Supertramp. Apparently they mixed and matched the segments. But the Styx songs are the same. I agree, they are great versions.

Just wonderin' Y only 1 person here pointed such a pearl as Boat On A River... :? Awesome song, IMO. It's definitely in my TOP10.
It's so hard to choose just 10 songs (considering ol these solo-projects). But I try in the end...

1. Rock City (Damn Yankees) - on of the hottest ever songs in the history of rock. Recommended while drivin' a car.
2. Boat On A River (Cornerstone)
3. Love's A Ritual (Edge Of Century)
4. Too Much Time On My Hands (Paradise Theathre)
5. Yes I Can (Cyclorama) - nice lyrics
6. High Enough (Damn Yankees) - U all know by yourselves
7. Blue Collar Man (Pieces Of Eight)
8. All In A Days Work (Edge...)
9. Rockin' The Paradise (Paradise...)
10. Show Me The Way (Edge...)

Damned, my mission failed. Now I look at my TOP10 and see that I've lost too many songs I like a lot. All Damned Yankees albums R simply outstanding as well as Tommy Shaw's 7 Deadly Zens. All these greatest songs from 70's era. Just can't find out what I like most of all. Uff, impossible task after all. They are too great to choose something from their full discography. :D
