They've been doing this cover since mid July when they did the Crossroads show in Dallas. Some radio stations told them that if they actually recorded it, it would fall within the guidelines of the format of their station where new classic rock music doesn't. They have also recorded their Medley which should be released sometime in the near future.

If that's what it takes to get on the radio, go for it. Maybe then they can get a new song or two on-ERIC

That's hard to imagine......for those who heard it, does it do justice to the song ? TS on lead vocal ?

I'd like to hear it......not sure if I'd like it, but worth a listen

I knew it was STYX as soon as I heard it. I think they did a great job on this song.

Froy says "No its Good ole Larry on the song and Its a Beatles cover a weak attempt to get on the radio".

Kind of like Dennis singing "Lies" (Styx'a remake of Beatles imitation band The Knickerbockers)?

Hmmm....Gowan Vocals ? I can kind of "imagine" it........ ( groan! )

I wonder if my local Progressive rock station has a copy...or is it just WLUP ?

When I learned that they were doing that song in concert, I was really looking forward to hearing it. But when I saw them perform it, I was not that impressed. I expected a strange acid tinged song like the original. But they perform it more like a beer hall sing along.

I am looking forward to a high quality version of the Cycomedley though. It will have to sound better than the bootlegs I already have.

walrus

Yes Classicstyxfan.
Magical Mystery Tour can be found on the Live Ambrosia cd 'Live at the Galaxy' from 2002.
